A New Species of an Enigmatic Fossil Taxon: Ischadites n. sp., a Middle Ordovician Receptaculitid From the Great Basin, Western USA

Abstract

A new species of Middle Ordovician receptaculitid is described from the Arrow Canyon Range in southeastern Nevada. Ischadites n. sp. exhibits a unique gross morphology, large body size, small, numerous outer plates, and an exceptionally large aperture to body size ratio.
