Utility Function for the Sensor Selection Problem in Localization Applications (SYS 22)

Abstract

In a sensor network environment, where energy and communication resources are limited but the sensors are abundant, it is beneficial if the network only activates sufficient, with little excess, sensors to achieve a given task.In this paper we propose a utility function for a localization application that provides a means of sensor selection, based on a source-sensor spatial relationship.
