Successful application of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) tools and concepts to the coastal zone is one of the great challenges still facing developers and users of the technology. Following a brief introduction to the role of GIS and related technologies in the coastal zone, this report consist of an annotated bibliography containing over 150 entries. All entries include keywords, and notes are provided on more than 60 of the items.
