What Do You See

You are driving down the highway on your way back from a business trip. You went with one of your coworkers but returned without them because they found another ride back. When the sun was out you were seeing nothing but trees and occasionally other cars. It's dark now and you’ve been driving for hours and haven’t seen another car for a long time. Suddenly you see a streak of red appear on the road and drag on for what seems to be about 100 feet. [[Do you stop and get out to investigate?]] [[Do you stop but stay in the car and look around for anything within sight?]] [[Do you keep on driving and pay no mind to it?]]

You get out of the car and walk up to the streak to crouch and examine it. You touch it and confirm your suspicions...it’s blood. Just as you finish inspecting it you hear a twig snap within throwing distance. [[Do you rush back to the car and turn on the car to drive off?]] [[Call out to whatever made that sound?]] [[Get in the car and lock the doors and just wait?]]

You're in the car. You can’t see anything that isn’t in view of the high beams. You look out the window but it’s just a void of darkness...it’s unsettling. You remember that you have a flashlight in the car and grab it but are debating on what to do. [[Do you shine out of the window and look around?]] [[Do you get out and shine the flashlight?]] [[Do you stop caring about it and take off?]]

You’re driving for not even 3 more minutes and find out what left that red streak on the ground. You crash head on into what is left of a car that seems to be completely destroyed. You hit your head on the steering wheel and pass out(yay for airbags right?). You wake up after some time and have a huge headache. You also find that your left arm is basically broken. You aren’t sure if that is the case but it hurts like hell. You don’t want to move but you need to call for help if you want to get out of there. You look for your phone and open it up...3 hours have passed. You’re surprised that you were out for that much time but don't think about it for too long because you need to call 911. You quickly put in the numbers and then put the phone up to your ear...no sound...you look back at your phone and find you have no signal. Sit there for a moment wondering what to do. [[Do you get out of the car and look around?]] [[Do you just sit there waiting until the sun comes up hoping someone will find you?]]

You do a complete 180 and sprint back to the car. [[You get in and take off.->Do you keep on driving and pay no mind to it?]]

You call out to whatever is out there and you hear...nothing. Surprisingly nothing hap- oh wait nevermind. A dark figure jumps out from the trees and pounces on you. It rips out every necessary organ in your body. You have zero chance of survival. [[Go back->Do you stop and get out to investigate?]]

You slowly walk to the car. [[Climb in.->Do you stop but stay in the car and look around for anything within sight?]]

You shine the flashlight out of the window and there is an all black figure just staring at you about 6 feet away from your car door. It tries to open your door but you locked it when you got it so its chances of prying it open are low. You are scared out of your mind but you want it to go away. You have a crowbar in the back seat that you are thinking about using on it. [[Do you honk the car in hopes that it startles it and leaves?]] [[Do you get out and try to fight it?]] [[Do you sit and don’t move?]]

You get out of the car and shine the flashlight into the darkness. You scan the area thoroughly and stop on something that just doesn’t seem right to you. A black mass that seems to be getting bigger and bigger. Oh wait it's coming closer. You try to get back in the car but it's too late. It moved so fast to you and threw you off guard. You swing at it but miss. It hits you once and you die. [[Go back.->Do you stop but stay in the car and look around for anything within sight?]]

[[You realize that you don't care and just want to leave.->Do you keep on driving and pay no mind to it?]]

You get out and it is dead silent. You look around and see a trail through the trees. You want to go down the path and see if you can find help but don’t think it is a good idea without taking something. Since your arm is injured though you can only take one thing with you. There is a crowbar that was in the back of the car that you can use as a weapon. However, you also want the flashlight so you can see[[.]] [[Do you grab the crowbar?]] [[Do you grab the flashlight?]]

Nothing happens for a while. It is eerily quiet outside and it feels like you’ll never leave there. You decide to sleep. You sleep through the night and wake up to an office taping on your window. You get out of your car and explain to them what happened. You get taken to a hospital and it only takes you about 2 months to recover after breaking your arm. [[Congrats on living another day.]]

That was the "Boring" ending. Good job on being dull...

You muster up the energy to only barely hold the flashlight in your injured arm and the crowbar to attack if needed in your right. You’re ready to go. You walk down the path for about 10 minutes and see what seems to a sort of cabin. There is a light on inside that you can see through a window on the side and you breathe a sigh of relief. Even though you’re relieved you still want to be careful so you approach the structure slowly. You see that a door seems to be slightly cracked open. [[You look in the door.]]

You grab the crowbar in your right hand and you’re ready to go. You start down the path and can’t see a thing. You keep walking carefully along what you think is the path despite that though. As you keep going to trip and fall into a deep hole. You’re stuck. You try to climb out but can't see anything. You figure you can just wait in the hole until morning when you can see and just climb out. You fall asleep and wake up and to your surprise it is still dark. You’re deeper than you think. You call out for help but no one can hear you. You aren’t going anywhere. You live out the rest of your days in that hole until you die of hunger and dehydration. You grab the flashlight in your right hand and you’re ready to go. You start down the path and everything seems fine for a while. However, as you progress you start encountering debris that is really hard to get through. You can get through but not without it taking a long time and tiring yourself out. It takes you an hour before you get to the end and see what seems to be a sort of cabin. There is a light on inside that you can see through a window on the side of the structure. You see the window but you also see the door seems to be slightly cracked open also. You’re so tired that you just want some water and to rest so you approach the door without a thought. You open the door and see an all black figure. You gasp and drop the floor. It turns around slowly and stares at you for a moment before pouncing on you and ripping you to shreds. You’re dead. [[Go back. ->Do you get out of the car and look around?]]

You honk the car and it only makes it angrier. It breaks the window and drags you out without breaking a sweat. You get thrown on the ground and let out a yelp of pain. Adrenaline kicks in and you get up and try to fight it. With one smack you get thrown at the car and break everything in your body. Not just your bones...but everything is broken. You sit there in agonizing pain for only a few seconds before everything goes dark. You die. [[Go back. ->Do you shine out of the window and look around?]]

You decide to have some courage and want to fight it, but you don’t even know what this thing is. You figure you’ll have to fight smart if this thing is freakishly strong so you grab the crowbar and get ready to fight it. Since it is blocking your door you quickly shuffle into the passenger seat and exit the car. You rush at the black figure and manage to get a couple hits off before it hits you against the car then takes off. You are in pain, but nothing is broken, you just feel really sore. Maybe you weakened it somehow? You look down and see a puddle of blue that then seems to lead off in the direction of the figure...oh yeah, you definitely weakened it. [[Do you pursue it and try to finish it off?]] [[Do you let it be free and try to get out of there before it comes back?]]

You sit there and just watch it try harder and harder to get to you. This thing is determined. Eventually it gets so fed up and angry that it just breaks the window, drags you out, and throws you on the ground. You are paralyzed with fear and pain that you just play dead hoping it will leave you...it isn’t that dumb. It proceeds to beat you into the ground as hard as it can, which is pretty hard, and eventually turn you into the equivalent of a deer getting hit by a speeding semi truck. You are waaayyy past dead. You look in the door and see the black figure doing something with its back turned to you. You are conflicted on what to do. [[Sneak up and attack it?]] [[Leave]]

You pursue the figure and catch up to it. In an attempt to slow you down the figure keeps throwing random things it finds back to you. The figure is so distracted throwing things at you that it doesn't notice that it cornered itself. It has no choice but to fight. It is still leaking the blue from its side and it is clearly struggling to stand. You see nothing but openings to hit the figure but aren't sure which blow would be the most decisive. You think attacking the head would be a good spot, but also want to take advantage of the leaking blue. [[Do you attack the head?]] [[Do you hit it again in its side?]]

You get back in the car and drive off. You are paying a lot of attention because of the adrenaline and manage to avoid a car wreck that looks really bad. You probably would have crashed head first if you didn't have so much energy. [[Stop and try to help the wreck?]] [[Screw it, godspeed to that person.]]

You get out and call out to see if there were any survivors. As you're calling out you hear fast footsteps approaching behind you, but before you can turn around you get hit in the head hard by the figure and die immediately. [[never look back man->Do you let it be free and try to get out of there before it comes back?]]

[[You drive home.]]

You make it home after a long drive and just break down. You could've died there man, but your bravery helped you see another day. [[Good job.]]

Nice one! You got the "Playing it Safe" ending

You muster up the courage to go in there and hit it as hard as you can on its head and make it collapse. [[Holy Shit you did it!]]

You start walking away but step on a branch and it turns to face you. [[You try to run, but are too slow. It catches you and rips your heart out from your back.]]

It isn't moving but you aren't sure if you killed it or not. [[Do you check to see if it is dead?]] [[Do you take that opportunity to leave?]]

You died man. [[Go back->You look in the door.]]

You go for a swing to the head and land a solid hit. It turns out the figure was expecting you to go for its side and went to block that instead and took the hit to the head hard. It stumbles around a little bit before falling over. It isn't moving. You slowly walk up to the motionless figure and check to see for any signs of life. It is still leaking blue, but it seems to be very much alive although unconscious. [[Do you finish it off?]] [[Do you leave it laying there and go back to the car?]]

You go for a swing on its side but it blocks it and then hits you towards a tree knocking the crowbar out of your hand in the process. You fall to the ground and can't move without being in more pain than you already are. The figure slowly walks to you and then picks you up. It grabs your head and twists into a full 360... [[yeeh you're dead.->Do you pursue it and try to finish it off?]]

You raise your crowbar and repeatedly beat the figure as hard as you can. You no longer see any signs of life at all. [[You did it.]]

You turn your back to it and start walking away but then hear a twig snap. The figure is standing right on you with its arms stretched out. It smacks you hard and you go flying towards the branch of a tree and are impaled in the center of your body. You look up one last time and see the creature walking back towards the road...then everything goes dark. [[Why come this far and not just kill it? ->Do you attack the head?]]

Good job! You got the "Ruthless" ending.

You slowly walk up to it and see that it is still alive just unconscious. [[Do you kill it right then and there?]] [[Do you spare it and leave?]]

[[You leave.->Do you spare it and leave?]]

You raise your crowbar and repeatedly beat the figure as hard as you can. You no longer see any signs of life at all. [[You killed it.]]

You quickly scurry out of there and make it back to the road. Your car is extremely damaged so you can't drive back home. Your phone has no signal and is almost dead so you can't call anybody. You decide to start making the long walk back home, but eventually collapse and pass out due to exhaustion. You wake up and your in an ambulance headed towards a hospital. Someone found you on the side of the road and drove you out of there until they were able to get some signal as well. [[You made it through the night.]]
