The news anchor continues by saying that 90% of Brainsville has already been infected, and that chances of survival are minimal. All of this information falls on you like a ton of bricks. How long were you asleep? Is this even real? You are still unsure if you are dreaming and decide to call someone just to check...

There is also extra ammo in the second drawer under you T-shirts. Oh and one last thing. Your friend Josiah called me wondering why you weren't picking up. He seemed to be in danger. Anyways, love you!"
You don't even have time to ask anymore questions before the phone hangs up.

You have known your friend Josiah for your entire life. He is basically the brother that you never had. You find his name in your contacts and call his cell phone.
"Dude, this might be the end for me.", Josiah says in a surprisingly calm tone, "I'm trapped in my own house and there are so many of them outside, I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out."
You ask if he knows where this so called "portal" is that the first zombies came from and he explains that it is just a couple blocks away from his house, which explains why there are so many trying to eat him.

[[Ask if he knows anything about the zombies->Hint]]You are so freaked out that you decide to call 911. After a few seconds, the phone is picked up on the other end, but there are no words. The silence is then broken by the sound of faint groans,

followed by one loud scream, and then the phone hangs up. This can't be good... and why did whatever was on the other side of that phone just mention the name of your best friend... weird .........

If you think you can fight your way through that you are more than welcome to come and save me. Make sure you eat something like a protein bar before heading out though, you don't want to be killing on an empty stomach. I'll try to hold out for as long as I can."
Josiah hangs up the phone. This is real...

"These are not normal zombies. There heads are actually pretty resistant to bullets and knives alike. However, I hit one in his calf and he evaporated instantly. Weird. Also, they really don't like loud noises, so try to stay quiet around them."
The connection starts to get weak, and the phone hangs up.

"I'm so sorry, but the world is a cruel place. That is why I needed to destroy it. But, you can join me if you want. We can rule over the whole world with zombies as our servants. You have already shown your worth by coming here and saving me. What do you say?"

Just a quick rundown of the rules:
1) You will find items in the world by clicking on links. Access these items by opening up your inventory on the left side of the screen.
2) Manage your resources. There are 3 resources (HP, Ammo, and Stamina) that will be replenished throughout the game by finding items. However, they will also be used for making choices, and having enough stats is crucial for finding all of the endings. So spend these resources wisely.
3) Try not to die! If your health resource reaches zero you will die. If you do just click restart and make better choices, NOOB!

You feel as healthy as ever, and think to yourself that getting that key earlier was totally worth it.

You look under the hay to find a small decaying ammo box. It contains 6 bullets! You happily load them into you gun.
