Rhett Drugge's Global Dermatology Grand Rounds

Global Dermatology Grand Rounds, part of the Internet Dermatology Society is the creation of Rhett Drugge M.D. The Concept of electronically presenting a case per month of continuing medical education-type material appears sound. An short patient history and a JPEG image are provided and the reader is asked to submit a diagnosis by email to Dr. Drugge.

Currently this material falls into the category of being neither university-based nor peer-reviewed. Access is free and easy.

The concept of accessing unknown cases via the Internet should be of interest to students and dermatologists. In its current form this resource is not compelling however because it does not exploit the advantages of electronic communication, such as links to relevent material, or the use of many images. As an educational experience, the cases might be better structured to allow the reader to have immediate feedback about the diagnosis.

In summary, the concept is good. The reader is advised to keep an eye on this site, and even to consider joining the effort.
