I've used up all my ammo defending myself from them, they take a lot of bullets to kill.

(set: $WithCompany to true)Geoff: I was being chased by these monsters after an explosion hit our camp. I had to gun them down but I had to use all of my ammo to take them down. It took about half a magazine for each one and there were 4 of them. How did you know I was here?
You: [[Watched footage from the truck and saw a dark figure go North from the camp]]Geoff: I spotted a camp that belongs to the monsters. We can check it out, there might be some valuable items there but I wouldn't mind heading back to camp.
You: [[//Ok, let's check out the monster camp.//->Monster camp]]
[[//I think we should go back to the base//->Go inside]]Geoff: That was probably me. Our camp was hit by some explosion one night while we were at the camp next to the fire place. I was knocked out by it and when I woke up, I was next to an unconscious monster so I quickly got up and ran without looking back. I was too afraid to go back after taking cover in the forest, I had no weapons or anything to defend myself with. I was surviving off of berries and random critters I could. Then you showed up and now we're here.
You: Have you been able to find anything else here?
Geoff: I have actually. While searching for berries yesterday, I came across some sort of camp and it was filled with monsters. They actually seem much more intelligent than I thought. There were metal contraptions everywhere and some form of crystals were being transported in and out of the camp.
You: Do you think there is anything valuable in there?
Geoff: I think we may be able to find a blueprint to their spaceship. I saw them looking at it on a table, I just don't know how we're going to get it.
You: We'll figure out a way. Can you take me there?
Geoff: [[//Sure.//->Monster camp]]

But wait...
It was your squadmate, Geoff, who you just massacred. Maybe you should've figured out who it was before attacking, but now it is too late. His screams attracted the monsters.
These ones seem much more agile and faster than the one you encountered at the camp. You must quickly decide what to do next.
[[Runaway deeper into the forest]]
[[Fight the monsters]]As you get into a fighting stance, you call to them to gain their attention.
It's Geoff, one of your squadmates that came with you on your mission!
What a relief. He is startled at first but quickly calms down.
Geoff: You scared me, I thought it was one of them and I was done for.
You:
[[Them?]]The base is now completely empty and dim. You and your squadmates use to sleep here, train here, bond with your other mates here, and now it's gone. It's eerily quiet but your gut senses trouble, you have a feeling you're not completely alone.

Geoff: I don't know, maybe we should check the command room. There should be some information there that can be of use.
You: Sounds good, let's head upstairs then.
Just as you say that, you guys hear a loud and deep growl and out from one of the nearby rooms, a monster appears. This one is one of the bigger, but slower monsters you saw at the camp. You and Geoff prepare to [[fight it]], or you guys can [[run away]].

(else:)[The command room was where the General would give orders and overlook plans for the army. This was the room that had the most classified information. You decide this is where you should go first.
As you take a few steps forward, you hear a loud and deep growl. You look to your right and from one of the rooms, a large monster appears out of it. This monster is one of the larger ones you saw back at the camp in the forest.
You decide whether you want to [[fight it]] or [[run away]].

(if: $WithCompany)[You and Geoff quickly run upstairs and take cover in one of the first rooms you see. The monster runs by but goes into a different room than the one you guys are in.
Geoff: That was way too close. Did you see the size of that thing?! We're gonna need more firepower if we want to take him on.
As Geoff says that, you guys look around in the room you're in: it's the armory.
You: Ohhh boy, speaking of more firepower.
The room is filled with weapons and armor. You and Geoff gear up heavily. From what you remember, Geoff is a very aggressive, close quarters combat soldier. He decides to go with a heavy, automatic shotgun with a drum mag, his other weapon of choice is a heavy duty machete.
You weren't much of a specialized fighter, you were more of a jack of all trades. You decide on what type of weapon you want to take, you have the choice between three weapons:

You gear up heavily with armor. You're deciding on what weapon to take as your primary. You weren't much of a specialized soldier like your other squadmates, you were more of a jack of all trades. You have three weapons to pick from:

It's a complete failure. You guys are easily outnumbered. What were you guys thinking? This was a horrible idea. Geoff is killed in action but his death was not a complete waste, it gave you enough time to escape and disappear into the forest.

The plans explain how to disable the machine.
Along the way out of the camp, Geoff spots a screen that has coordinates. After some thinking, you conclude it's the coordinates to the main spaceship, where the energy machine is being held. This machine needs to be destroyed to save planet Earth.

After running for a good distance, you quickly take cover under a fall tree trunk. The monsters run past you.
You no longer are being hunted.
You decide to [[explore you surroundings in the forest]]They are way too fast to take on by yourself, even with your AR. They quickly overpower and rip you to shreds. Having Geoff to help you fight them would've changed the outcome, but now you are dead.
THE ENDYou search the surrounding forest area when you spot some monsters in the distance. They can't see you and seem to be carrying some metal contraption.
You decide to follow them closely, while remaining as quiet as possible.
After some distance, they arrive at some sort of camp. It's filled with monsters, there are many different forms of them too. Some look huge and sluggish, others look small and jittery. You can even see age in some of them, the "older" ones have dried up skin and don't seem to move as quickly and efficiently as the younger ones. This is the [[Monster camp]]. You both were able to surive the attack. Luckily you had that machete to give to Geoff, he was able to help you defend against the monsters.
After the altercation, you both check your surroundings to make sure if any more of them were approaching. Once you conclude it's safe, you begin to talk to Geoff.
You: [[What are you doing here?]]The monsters easily overpower you and rip you apart before you can do much. The same fate happens to Geoff. Maybe if Geoff had a weapon such as a machete, you both could've fought off the monsters and survived.
THE END(if: $WithCompany)[You guys survive the fight but you suffer a devastating blow to your stomach. You can still move but very slowly, but you and Geoff need to find medical supplies fast or you won't survive.
Geoff: Quick! The medical room is down the hallway, let's move there right away. I should be able to patch you up right there.
Geoff is able to carry you to the [[medical room]].

(else:)[The monster was too strong for you to do any damage to it. It manages to grab hold of you and slams you against the floor. Before you can even react, it crushes your head with its hands. Running away would've been the better option.

]Geoff gets you to the medical room and lays you on one of the beds. He quickly starts looking through the cabinets to find anything that will help.
You're slowly bleeding to death but can still communicate. Your vision is blurry and everthing feels like its in slow motion.
Geoff: Ok, I found a few things that may help!
Geoff: Should I [[attempt to close the wound with stitches]] or [[just disinfect it and cover it up with bandage wrap]]?Geoff: Ok, I will attempt my best but I am no surgeon.
As Geoff starts to stitch the wound close, your body reacts in a negative way to the stitches. It's as if the wound consumes the stitches and spreads more throughout your body.
Geoff: What's going on?!?! What do I do?!
Geoff tries to then disinfect the wound but it's too late. The wound has spread too much and at such a fast pace. Your mind begins to slip, your vision is slowly fading away, and your ears begin to ring increasingly.
Geoff: Hey! Don't die on me buddy, don't die!
It's too late though, the ringing gets louder and your vision starts darkening.
You take your last breath.
THE ENDGood thing you chose to disinfect it. The wound seems to be shrinking and healing up quickly but you're still pretty injured.
Geoff: Alright, I have no clue what that did but it worked. Let's continue, we need to find more information on these monsters.
You: Sounds good, let's move on. The [[command room]] shouldn't be too far.(if: $WithCompany)[You guys get into the command room and begin to look around. The room has a few terminals and cabinets filled with paperwork.
Geoff: There has to be something here that will help us. I'm going to look at this terminal.
You decide to search through the paperwork for any useful files. After some time, Geoff tells you to come over and look at the terminal.
Geoff: Come over and look at this. This is the General's last letter, it's dated 6/1/2131. It says that humanity has been invaded by an alien species called the Enlightened. Their strengths come from crystals and they can survive in any terrain. He mentions no weaknesses, only their strengths.
You: There's absolutely nothing we can do to stop them?
Geoff: He mentions something about an energy machine but nothing about disabling it.
You: Let's just blow it up, maybe that'll do something.
Geoff: Let's do it! He has the coordinates to the main sapceship, I bet that's where the machine is being held.
You guys get some rest then head out the [[//next day//->Arrive to the main spaceship]].

As you're looking through the terminal, you come across a letter from the General. The date of the letter is 6/1/2131.
EMERGENCY: TO WHOEVER IS READING THIS: THE EARTH HAS BEEN INVADED BY AN ALIEN SPECIES. WE HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THEY GO BY THE NAME, THE ENGLIGHTENED. THEY ARE A SUPERIOR SPECIES COMPARED TO US AND HAVE COME TO DESTROY HUMANITY AND REAP THE EARTH OF ITS RESOURCES.
REPORTS SUGGEST THEY GAIN THEIR POWERS THROUGH CRYSTALS AND HAVE A MAIN ENERGY SOURCE MACHINE. WE DO NOT KNOW MUCH MORE THAN THIS. STAY SAFE AND STAY TOGETHER, OUR ONLY CHANCE AT SURVIVAL IS BY STICKING TOGETHER. THEY CAN SURVIVE IN ANY TERRAIN SO NO WHERE IS TRULY SAFE.

The monster charges toward you and you prepare to fight it.

The rounds set the monster on fire as your pellets shred it. The monster shrieks but quickly falls to the ground, its corpse is still on fire. The smell of its burning body is an unpleasant one but you move on.]

Inside of it are pumps that are pumping some extremely hot liquid that you guys have never seen before. Before you guys can do much investigation, you hear something behind you.
A huge monster is behind you. He quickly locks you guys inside the room and charges at you.

You try to run but the small and agile monsters quickly catch up to you and bring you to the ground. As youi're trying to break free, the larger monsters come up and tower over you.

You look down at your hands and notice your fingertips have become green and have scales on them, like a fish. You infected yourself....
The scales quickly spread throughout your body and you begin to feel your mind slip away. This was not suppose to happen but now you can't change it.
The Enlightened mindset is overpowering your own mind and you can't stop it. The energy machine is now giving even more power to all monsters and now you're one of them.
The world will now be lost. Although you tried, you failed your mission.
