Lily On The Hill Start 2 content warningYou wake up on a grassy hill overlooking a field of flowers. Your head hurts a bit... You look at the colorful scenery around you and feel a sense of peace. There's a flower that stands out from the rest of them, though...Maybe if you look around you'll find a few clues. There's a long, winding river to your right. There's a dirt path in the middle of the flower field to your left. I don't wanna go anywhere...You decide to go down to the river. The water sparkles in the sunlight and you can see some fish swimming against the current. Further down you spot a necklace desc. near the edge of the water. necklaceYou decide to go down the dirt path. Flowers surround you on both sides. You can see spots of flower field desc all around you. The field seems to strech on forever. You can feel a cool breeze blow across your face, and the sweet smell of the flowers fill your lungs. Further along the path, you see a a piece of paper in the dirt. It seems to be a drawing of a bird near a cliff. Are you sure? Actually, I think I want to something Yeah... just let me stay here. I don't wanna do anything...You decided to lie back down in the grass and close your eyes. Little did you know that you would never wake up from that nap... StartYou are transported to a cliff desc overlooking the ocean. It looks like you're sitting on a rock. You see a cliff girl desc standing behind an easel. She seems to be focusing on a group of birds on a large boulder. After watching her for a few minutes, she walks towards you and cliff giftAll of a suddend you are transported to a shop full of jewels and accessories. It seems like you're waiting to get a clock fixed. There's a girl standing next to you. She asks you somethingYou can see light filtering through the windows, lighting up the dust floating around the room. Many necklaces and pocketwatches line the walls. necklace to what you were doing.//"Can I get this? Pleeeaaassse?// She looks up at you with expectant eyes. She's holding a silver necklace with a blue stone in it... It must be the one you saw near the river. buy necklace refuse necklace //This must be my daughter// She's wearing a light pink dress with a matching bow in her hair. She looks like she's around six years old here. necklaceYou take the finished clock and hand your daughter the necklace. //"Hey. You take good care of that, okay?"// //"Don't worry, I will! Thank you!"// //"I love you!"// she says with a big grin on her face. //"You're just saying that becuase I bought that for you."// //"No! She's staring at you with those puppy eyes... Awwww... Give in? buy necklace hahaYou're back at the river, necklace in hand. //What was that?// A memory? A vision? You still don't remember what it was that you had to do for your daughter, though... You decide to keep moving and memory 1 endAfter walking for a while, you reach a large wooden bridge that stretches across the river. On the other side of the bridge there is a flat grassy field. There also seems to be a herd of horses in the distance. You can also continue following the river downstream. Who knows what you will find down there? field down the river//This must be my daughter// She's wearing a white and light blue dress with a matching ribbon holding up her hair in a bun. She also has a necklace with a silver chain and blue stone around her neck. She looks like she's around nine years old here. drawing. You're back on the dirt path, drawing in hand. //What was that?// A memory? A vision? You still don't remember what it was that you had to do for your daughter, though... You decide to memory 1 end.You decide to cross the bridge and head towards the field. The long dry grass sways in the wind and brushes your arms. You see a large herd of horses. Some are grazing while others are trotting around the herd. You get closer to the herd but they don't seem to notice you. There's one horse that seems to be watching you though... It begins to move closer to you. As it gets closer, you notice that its coat is significantly lighter than the others and its mane flowed differently from the other horses. It stops in front of you. You reach out and horse the horse. After following the river for a few minutes, you find a group of kids playing along the riverside. It looks like they're messing around with some frogs. Suddenly, a boy falls into the river! Some start to panic while others try to drag him back in from the edge. The boy that fell in is clinging to a rock, but it looks like he won't be able to hold on for much longer. //I have to do something!// You run up to the edge of the river and reach out your hand to pull him in but you save child. It looks like you're in one of your memories. You seem to be in the same field you were standing in but the sun is setting now. You're riding the horse that approached you on the field. Next to you is your horse dau who is riding a black horse. The both of you talk about your day as you ride around the field. After a while, she suddenly asks: //"Are you alright?"// "What do you mean?"You're back on the field and the sun high in the sky once again. The horse that was in front of you had disappeared. That memory seemed to cut off abrubtly... Well, at least you remember your daughter's name now. But why did you forget it in the first place? You feel a bit ashamed of yourself... Anyway, it's time to keep moving. Up ahead seems to be a cliff, as well as another bridge to cross. You can hear something like the crashing of waves in the direction of the cliff. As for the bridge, it looks like there are some small animals on the other side. Go to the cliff. bridge 2.You arrive at the edge of the cliff. You look down and see the ocean waves wash over a bunch of smooth rocks. A strong sea breeze blows across the area and you can see a few birds gliding over the water. Over the wind you begin to hear voices. You turn to your right. In the distance you see a boy and a woman arguing, perhaps a mother and her son? You can't quite hear what they're saying so you begin to walk over to them. Suddenly, you see the son trip over a rock and fall backwards.... towards the edge of the cliff. The mother tries to grab him but she's too far away from him. You run towards him and time seems to slow down. //If I don't do something the boy is going to die.// You're in a position where you you can almost reach the mother or the son. It looks like you have two options: cliff 1 cliff edgeAfter crossing the bridge you find two rabbits. It looks like a mother rabbit and a baby rabbit. //She only has one baby following her. I guess the other ones didn't make it...// You feel a pang of sadness looking at them. They remind you of you and Iris. It's just the two of you in the family now. Your partner died from a sickness when Iris was around two years old. //Ah, I miss the both of them...// Now's not the time to reminisce, though. I need to look for Iris. There don't seem to be any other paths so you forest//Why can't I reach him? He's not that far out into the river.// What should you do? Try reaching out again. Try to find something for him to grab onto. You try reaching out again but you go to far out and lose your balance. You fall into the river and get swept away by the current. You try to fight it but the cold water keeps going over your head and eventually drags you down... You feel yourself losing consciousness... Let's Start, shall we?You look around and find a large branch near some rocks. You try to bend it to test its strength. It feels pretty sturdy. You hold the branch out and he grabs onto it. He makes it make to the edge of the river, shivering but seemingly unharmed. //"Are you alright?"// you ask. He doesn't seem to hear you though. The other children don't notice you either. //That's strange... Are they choosing to ignore me or can they not see me? Eh, whatever. At least he's safe.// The group of children eventually move away from the river and begin to follow the river downstream. There don't seem to be any other pathways so you decide to to the town. You eventually arrive at a town. The town surrounded by a large stone wall and you can see a large number of guards standing near the gate and on the wall. The kids arrive at the gate and are let inside almost immediately. Just looking at the wall gives you a sense of uneasiness... You feel like you know about this town but you can't remember any details about it. If you try to sneak into town you might be able to recover more of your memories. Is it worth the risk though? through town. around town. You arrive in front of a forest. The tall, dark trees almost cover the setting sun. You take a step forward and step on something. There's a pouch on the floor. //Who would leave something like this on the ground?// There's a sweet and bitter smell coming from it. Suddenly, forest memory come rushing back to you.An idea pops into your head. You run towards the mother and kick a sizable rock near her feet. //Sorry lady, but I think this is the best course of action.// The woman trips over the rock, her arm still stretched out. She manages to grab on her son's leg and pulls him away from the edge. The both of them look at each other in shock and burst into tears. //I can't believe that worked...// //"Hey are the both of you alright?// cliff reflectYou run forward and try to pull him away from the cliff but when you try to grab him, your hand completely misses his arm. It was as if there was a barrier preventing you from touching him. Time begins to flow normally again and you feel yourself falling over the edge of the cliff. Out of the corner of your eye you see the boy falling alongside you, tears in his eyes. All you could think of as you were falling was... //I'm so sorry// Let's Wait!, shall we?You try putting your hand on the mother's shoulder but you couldn't touch her. It's as if there's a barrier preventing you from touching her. //Huh? What is this?// You try talking to them again but there is no response. Maybe they're still in shock. It doesn't look like they're hurt though. //Why can't I touch her though? If it's the same with the son then it's a good thing I didn't try to grab him...// They seem to be alright now. I need to forestYou decide to try sneak into town to see if you can recover any of your lost memories. You spot a guard sleeping with his back turned away from a door. This must be a way in! You sneak behind him and try opening the door. It's unlocked! These guards aren't very good at their jobs... //Time to go in.//You decide to go around the town. The guards on the wall don't seem to notice you as you're walking around the perimeter. Either that or they don't see you as a threat and have decided to ignore you. While you're walking, you spot a small patch of yellow flowers on the side of the road. It seems a bit out of place but it still looks nice. //Iris would like these.// //Huh? Iris? Oh! That's my daughter's name! How could I forget that? At least I remember now...// After walking for a few more minutes, you make it past the wall and arrive at another bridge. You forest. There seems to be some herbs, roots, and little balls inside. It looks like some forest You're not sure what it's for but you decide to take it with you.You were supposed to take this bag of medicine to Iris. She was sick and you had to leave the town to get this medicine for her, but the night you came back the harpies decided to attack the town. You start to panic. //What if she didn't make it? What if there isn't a town to return to? Why was I on the hill?! I need to get forest clearing//You run into the dark forest, weaving around the trees. Night falls quickly and there's barely any light when you arrive at a clearing. You see two paths before you: A dark path. It's eerily quiet and you can barely see anything past the inky darkness. Another dark path but you see some light path further in.You go down the dark path. Something doesn't feel right here... Maybe you should forest clearing dark path endYou follow the path with glowing lights. It's pretty well-lit and after a few minutes of running you end up in front of a very familliar town... //This is must be my hometown! It looks like it's safe now.// You see a few people still walking around but they don't seem to notice you. //That's not important right now. I need to find Iris.// final memoryYou run down a few streets and arrive at a very familliar house after a few turns. Well, it looks like your house is still standing after that attack... It's time to see if she's still houseThe door is unlocked. You push the door open and find yourself in a living room. There are a few lit candles around the room. You see a large couch facing a fireplace as well as a few bookshelves placed beside it. There are also a lot of paintings and pictures scattered around the place. One picture catches your attention, though. You decide to take a chance and go through the back alley. The man begins running the second you make a move and before you know it, you're weaving between crowds and making turns at random. Just as you think you've lost him, you end up at a dead end. //"Thought you could run away from me?"// You turn around. The man chasing you is standing at the entrance of the alley, knife in hand. He begins to walk towards you. You look around. //There's no way you're getting out of here.// You were about to ask him why he was going after you but when you saw the flash of his knife, you could only think of one thing. You decide to make your escape through the main street. The man begins running the second you make a move and before you know it, you're weaving between crowds. Surprisingly, you haven't bumped into anyone yet. It doesn't look like anyone has noticed that you were being chased, though. Weird. As you're running you think about the name you thought of back at the shop. //Iris.// Ah! That's right, that's your daughter's name. How could you forget? No, now's not the time to think about this! You look back and find that the man catching up to you. //There has to be some way to stop him.// Suddenly, you smell a familliar, burning scent. Up ahead you see a wagon full of barrels. You realize what this is. //I have an idea!//You venture further into the darkness. A chill runs down your spine and all of a sudden you lose all sense of direction. You try to call out for help but no sound leaves your mouth. A wave of panic washes over you. You feel hands wrap around your legs and before you could react they drag you further into the forest. As they're dragging you, you feel yourself losing consciousness. Let's Wait!, shall we?It's a yellow lily. It reminds you of someone... Someone very important to you. She's...... my daughter? That's right, I have a daughter. I can't seem to remember anything about her, though. There was something I had to do for her, but what was it?You see smoke billowing up from the town as well as the orange glow of the fire over the tops of the trees. You clutch the pouch you were holding closer to your chest and run faster towards it. //I hope they haven't found her yet.// After a few minutes you arrive at your hometown. The sound of piercing screams fill the air. You see many of the townsfolk run away from the town while others try to fight off the invaders. You recognize them as the people from the town near the river. The people in your town called them harpies. //I didn't think would have the guts to attack us... They're crazy.// //"Hey!"//The river has a silver chain with a smooth blue stone set in the pendant. You can see a bit of your reflection in it.Heh. You thought you could resist it didn't you? Unfortunately for you, the power of cute was too much for you to handle. You end up buy necklace for her.You see many different kinds of flowers in the dirt path, but you don't see any yellow lilies anywhere... Why was there only one on top of the hill? You can see a flock of birds flying around the cliff, some with fish in their mouth. The sound of the waves crashing into the cliff resonates through the air. A light sea breeze blows accross the land, and you start to feel a bit drawing...//"Do you like it? I drew this for you!"// You look down at the drawing... It's a picture of five birds doing various things on a large rock. Next to the rock are two people sitting next to each other. You point this out to her. //"Is this us?"// you ask. //"Yeah! I drew the both of us because we're always together!"// //"Ah that's true... It's beautiful. I love it."// //"And I cliff end you!"//Most of the horses have shiny, brown coats with long, flowing manes. Some of them have white spots on their bodies. There seem to be about eight horses in this field. She's wearing a white blouse with a dark blue skirt. Her hair is tied up in a bun. She seems to be about twelve years old here. Judging from how she handles the horse, you would say that she was pretty skilled. You wonder if you were the one who taught her how to horse//"It's just that... you always look really tired when you come back home, so I was wondering if you're doing alright."// It looks like she worries about you a lot. It's nice having someone //"I'm doing alright Iris, you don't have to worry about me. Just worry about yourself. I don't want you to be upset because of me."// Ah- her name is Iris. How did I forget that? //"Oh that's good. I was worried because you're the only one working. I mean, it's only the two of us after horse"//It's a pretty long branch. This looks like it will be useful. Wait... Was this branch always here? It stands out from its surroundings so you would've noticed when you arrived. //Now's not the time to be worrying about this!// Try to find something for him to grab onto.Just by looking at the guards and the wall, you get the feeling that the people here don't like outsiders... You also feel a strong sense of to the town from the guards. When you get inside you're greeted by a bustling marketplace. The sounds of conversations and animals fill the air. Colorful stalls line the streets and you see crowds gathering at certain stalls. It doesn't looks like anyone has noticed that you are an outsider yet. You walk around, looking for anything that looked familiar to you. You pass by a stall selling hair accessories. A purple ribbon with small jewels catch your eye. //Huh, I think Iris would like-//You suddenly feel a chill run down your spine. Out of the corner of your eye you see a man watching you with a twisted grin on his face. You spot something shiny near his hand. A knife? Your hearts begins to beat faster and your head begins to spin. //What does he want from me? That doesn't matter right now. Something's wrong. I NEED to get out of here.// You see a back alley behind you. You could try to lose him back there but you don't know this town well. get caught out of town//Iris//. Your daughter. That was her name... how could you forget? Then you realized that this man was the one who attacked her in your dream. This was your last thought as everything went dark. Let's Start, shall we?You run towards the wagon and knock a barrel over. A slightly sweet-smelling oil spills onto the ground, alarming everyone around you. After that, you kick a box with a lit candle on it and it lands on the oil, causing it to catch on fire. //Yes! It worked!// The marketplace breaks out into a state of panic and the man gets caught behind the wall of flames. As you're leaving the town you can see the man watching you with angry eyes. //Iris would've liked to see this. She did have a strange interest in fire...// Anyway, time to forestYou didn't expect that you would happen when you tried to grab the boy, right?
