Your name is Liam, a blond haired, green eyed neuroscientist with a special watch that allows you to travel through the Multiverse. How you got the watch is beyond you. Maybe it was a family heirloom. Maybe Fate chose you for a special task. Or maybe you just maxed out the luck stat. One thing's for sure though: it's yours, and you received it for a reason.
You live with your [[wife and kids]] in Clock, a place the citizens call "the [[city]] out of time." Your life was peaceful, calm, and starting to become luxurious. Surely nothing would happen.
But wait, something did! What a surprise...
It started like any other day, where you had
[[Eggs, Bacon and Toast]]
[[Cereal]]
Located on top of a cliff near the ocean, Clock is like the MCU version of Wakanda, with very advanced technology allowing it to be hidden from the rest of the world. [[You]] realize, now that you're thinking about it, that the city kept the world in check. If a country gained too much power, Clock's government would send a team out to reduce their power. Sometimes it worked too well. As a matter of fact, they're is actually the reason why the USSR desolved.
But don't tell anyone that...
Your wife, much like yourself, is also a neuroscientist. She has long, brown hair with crystal green eyes, and is slightly shorter than you. She was perfect to you. Funny how things turn out.
Along with your wife, you also have a son and daughter. 5 year old fraternal twins. Your son has brown hair and green eyes, while your daughter has blonde hair, blue eyes. [[You]] figured out later that the blue eyes are a recessive gene. Funny how things turn out.Eggs, Bacon and Toast. You always order from JJ's Diner across the street, and since you're so close to your work, it doesn't take that long for take-out. That's what happens when you watch Parks and Rec...
Walking into the house with food in hand, the rest of the family come out to the dining room to eat the best food to ever exist: breakfast food. Barely finishing your meal, you get dressed for work and walk out the door.
Work was good. You got a lot of productive stuff complete today. You're actually close to a breakthrough where you can cure paralysis, and if that happens, you'll get a promotion for sure. But as you're walking out the door, a building across the street explodes in a fiery blaze. A building right next to your work blows up, and a piece of debris slashes you across the face. You fall to the ground, screaming in pain. You look up to see various small objects in the direction of your house. As they approach, you realize they aren't just objects. No...they're humans.
So many thoughts are racing through your head: //How did they get here?// //Who are these people?// //Where are my wife and kids?// Then it hits you:
''Your wife and kids.''
You know you should go and try and save [[your family]] to see if they're still in the house, but at the same time, the army is getting [[closer and closer]]...Cereal. It was always a [[staple]] choice in the household, and just like any other day, that was what you had for breakfast.
So you had cereal with the family, and everyone ate at the dining room table. You know, normal stuff, nothing unusual. You finish up, get dressed for work (it was Wednesday), and walk out the door.
Work was good. You got a lot of productive stuff complete today. [[Cereal]] may sound like a non-luxorious choice, but you get the name brand cereal. Like Cinnamon Toast Crunch, or Reese's Puffs. Sometimes you spice it up and get Cookie Crisp.//I can't get to them in time//, you think, and you start to run off in the opposite direction of your house. As you're running, people you know are starting to fall to the ground
//Keep running. Keep running. Just. Go.//
Thoughts like this keep going through your head. Over and over again. You can just use the watch to move to another dimension when this is over. Unless this is a constant...
Little do you know, something's happening behind you. A sniper. Loading her gun. Looking through her sights. She spots you, and aims for you.
She fires, and the bullet hits your leg. You fall down, yelling in pain. You look behind you, and see the glare of a sniper. You feel like you've been here before...
As you hear the explosions and screams going on around you, you hear one distinctive sound. You somehow know this sound before. And then, all of a sudden...
[[Nothing]]//I can't just let my family die,// you think to yourself, and you start to book it to your home. (This is where you start the music)
There are explosions everywhere, and gunshots are whizzing by left and right. You feel like one of those action heroes right now. Dodging bullets, running to save people. There's even really intense music playing in the background. Funny how that goes.
All of a sudden, you see a rocket coming straight for you. You gracefully move to the (either: "left,", "right,",) and the rocket explodes behind you. You don't even look back. Like in the movies.
You're able to reach your house and head inside. There, you find your family tied up on the couch.
"Hello Liam." says a familiar voice.
A figure comes out of the kitchen, and who it is startles you...because it makes sense the voice was [[familiar]]. (Where you would end the music)

Ending 4 of 5 Mistakes were made
[[Back to the Beginning?]]//Screw it//, you think to yourself, //this is better than talking.// Assuming this version of you is the same being, you know how to get enough time to pull it off. This trick gets you every single time.
"Hey Jimmy. Behind you."
"Dude," he scoffs, starting to turn around, "there's nothing behind me."
He's right, but that doesn't matter. Now's your chance. You quickly activate your watch, and a flash of bright light emits from the device. Jimmy jolts in surprise, and turns around to see you blanketed in white.
You like seeing the shocked look on his face. Means he really ''is'' you.
Suddenly, you're surrounded by nothing. An empty void, and you can see black for as far as you can see. This is where you usually go when you start to travel to different universes. It's kind of peaceful, in a weird way.
"I hate that trick," you say, "I always fall for that!"
Wait, that wasn't you. You turn around to see none other than Jimmy, angry with himself that he was fooled by a simple trick as that.
"How in the..." you begin to say, but in an instant, you're sucked into a wormhole. Kind of like Star Gate.
You look down at your watch to see where you're going:
[["Universe 81956"]]."Now hold on..." you start to say, slowly putting your hands out in front of you, "you don't wanna do this."
"No, I..." the other you says, then gives a puzzled look on his face. "You're...rare. You usually don't try and talk your way out of this situation. Maybe that'll work." He puts his gun away, and starts to think.
"Listen," he beings, "I can get you out. You'll get free passage from the city, and I'll move on from."
Without a second thought, you agree. The other you quickly releases your family, and ushers you to the back of the house, into a vehicle.
A long while later, the vehicle drops you off in the neighboring town.
"I have no other business with you more, Liam. Goodbye." Just like that, he's off, and you never see him again.
A few years past, and you get a funny feeling in your stomach. Like something else should of happened. But you have your family. A new house, and a new life. Life was different, but sometimes different is good. Best part of it is? You rarely had to talk your way out of that situation all those years ago. Funny how things go.
Ending 3 of 5: Ah, the negotiator
[[Back to the Beginning?]]
Huh. Interesting.
Not really, since you never have a clue where these things lead you.
After a while, the wormhole comes to an end, and you fall flat on your face. Like normal.
You pick yourself up and look around. Jimmy doesn't seem to be around. You do, however, realize that it's nighttime, with lamps throughout the street, and people in very nice and royal clothing. You look to the right, and notice a sign. It startles you.
It's Clock.
You've never been in a Clock from a different universe. Being here makes you feel unsettled. Like you shouldn't be here. This version of Clock seems to be different, so you decide to look around,
In the distance you see a [[castle]], which gives off intriguing yet spooky vibes. To your left is a quiet, [[open street]]. Who knows what's down there!
You go down the open street, hoping that this version of Clock will be similar to the Clock you know of.
Due to plot convienence, it is!
As you're walking down the street, keeping an ear out for any trouble, you notice a familiar street sign: Krillen Street. The street that your home is. Or at least it should be here.
Determined to get there, you decide to move in the direction of your house. Looking at all the buildings, they all seem to be...abandoned. Broken. In desperate need of repair.
//Odd,// you think, //why is this section so bad?//
You continue to navigator your way past the ruined buildings, and eventually make it to your [[house]]. Or what should be your house. Now it's just a pile of rubber and ruin.Looking at this raggedy version of your house makes you really appreciate it. Back in your own universe, your house was a 2 story white house with a dark, oak door. Since your family was lazy, you always had Christmas decorations up on your house. Yes, you're ''THAT'' family.
When you walked into the house, you immediately notice the ocean blue couchfacing a giant, plasma screen TV. Farther on is the dining room table, and next to it is the kitchen. Upstaires were the kids rooms, and your room, as well as the bathrooms.
The colors inside your house were...interesting. You and your wife thought it was a smart decision to have the kids decide the colors of the walls. In your defense, it helped them learn colors, and helped bamboozle a lot of your friends on the [[street]].
//The house is ruined//, you reckon, //really no point in me investigating.//
As you turn around, something strikes a cord with you. It's somewhere you haven't gone to in a [[while]].
But then again, you also haven't been to the [[castle <- castle]], and it DOES look kind of interesting.[[The Secret Spot]].
You know, it doesn't hurt to check. Just in case.
On your way to where you hope The Secret Spot should be, you hear a familiar voice. One you really didn't hope you would hear again.
Jimmy.
As your walking, you realize that The Secret Spot is in this universe. It seems to be a constant. That's good to know.
You take the path down to where you used to go. Where you would hang out to get away from people.
You get to the spot, and it looks just as pretty as it always does. The reflection of the moon makes the scene beautiful. For as far as the eye can see, the ocean is mixed with various whites, blues, and dark colors.
It's just how you remember it.
"[[Hello, friend]]."You suddenly get a constant ringing in your ear. It's quiet at first, as you're barely able to make it out:
(text-style:"shudder")[//The castle.//]
The voice repeats that same phrase. Over and over again. But it keeps getting louder and louder. You can't get it out of your head.
(text-style:"rumble")[//The castle.//]
You decide to heed the voices advice. Maybe that'll work.
It takes a little while longer to get to the castle, since it was across town. But as you reach, the entrance, a cold shiver pulses through your spine.
You shouldn't be here. But you can't stop yourself.
(text-style:"rumble")[//The stairs.//]
Wanting the voices to stop, you quickly move up the stairs, going all the way up to the top of the castle. Through it, you realize that there are way too many stairs. It's an actual workout for you
But finally. You reach it.
[[The throne room.]]Your urges for the castle are too much, and you decide to head off in the direction of the castle. When you get closer and closer to the castle, it hits you on just how massive it is.
You feel bad for the people that had to build that. Must of taken forever.

[[The throne room.]]It's him.
"Hello there," you reply, turning around to see him. He must of been behind you the entire time. The pale moonlight washed over him as he approached, giving him a sort of Joker kind of look. Except for the creppy smile, of course.
"Figured I would meet you here. This place is always a constant in the other universes."
"I guess it is," you say hesitantly, keeping on your guard. You see that he has two guns. One of them is the one he pointed at you. You don't know how he got the other one. All you have is the watch.
"You know how far that drop is?" Jimmy asks, grabbing a rock a throwing it down. "1...2...3...4...5...6..." You hear a sudden splash in the water. This place was always so silent. You could hear everything that happened. Funny how that goes.
"Okay, I'll bite," you say, keeping an eye on the guns. "What's going on?"
"I'm here to save us both, Liam. If that doesn't happen...[[The cycle continues]]."
"What do you mean 'the cycle continues'? What cycle?" You raise your eyebrows at what he's saying. Is this guy high or something?
Impossible. You never did drugs in your life.
"You see, we both know there are constants and variables in each and every universe. The Secret Spot is a constant. Krillen Street is a constant. But Clock is a variable. This spot that we used to love is the key to everything. Liam," Jimmy pauses, and starts to slowly approach you, "I am you...because of that castle. That castle is the source of it all. But we can break this thing. [[Break the cycle]] once and for all."Okay," you skeptically say, "suppose I believe you. How would we break this cycle?"
"It's complicated. You become me if you go to the castle. You'll continue this whole thing if you live. That means...we both have to end our existance. Here. At The Secret Spot."
"What? No! I would never do that! I have a wife and kids! I'm happily married and I have a good working job!"
"None of that matters, Liam. If you don't help me, help us? Then this whole thing will start all over again. Trust me. I've been to way too many universes, killed too many of myself because they don't believe me."
This all sounds like a bunch of crap. Why would anyone give up everything they have for some probable hoax an impersonator is pulling.
[[Return back to your universe]]
[[Walk away from Jimmy]]"I'm sorry, Jimmy," you say, "I just can't go through with this."
"No..." Jimmy shockingly says, "No...you can't do this...you can't do this! ''YOU CAN'T DO THIS!''
He suddenly rushes at you, sprinting full force. You slickly slide to the (either: "left", "right") as he's about to tackle you to the water.
Instead, it's Jimmy that plummets.

You figure there's really [[no point]] to check out this ruined version of your home. [[Unless?]]It's...yourself?!
"Who are you?! you ask in astonishment.
"What does it look like," the man says. "I'm you. What are you, blind?"
Upon closer inspection, you realize that he really is you. From the blond hair, the green eyes. He even has the same watch as you. Which makes sense, actually. The watch must be a constant between the universes.
Why do you get the feeling that this has all happened before?
Suddenly, the other you (let's just call him Jimmy for now, so we don't get confused) pulls a gun out. "Tell me why I shouldn't shoot you right here, right now."
You suddenly come up with two plans. One plan is to activate your watch. You haven't used it in a while, so to be perfectly honest, you don't know where you're going to go. You could also try and talk your way out of this situation.
[[Activate your watch]].
[[Talk your way out]].
Warning: the following game has hints and themes of these topics that may trigger people: Hostages, explosions, death, and suicide. If any of these themes worry you, you aren't obligated to play this game. But be prepared to experience these things. Now, without further ado, let's [[Back to the Beginning?<- begin!]] The Secret Spot was your escape area in your childhood. You found it one day while playing with some friends. You know, how people normally find super secret things. You were able to branch off from the group, and being a "young adventurer," as your parents would say, you noticed an opening in the group. It looked like it was manmade, since the ground seemed to be made of steps. The "steps" led to an opening in the cliffside, and you could see ocean as far as the eye can see. The sun reflected beautifully off the water, and made the whole view extraordinary. Being a little boy, you naturally called the area The Secret Spot. It was so amazing, that you haven't showed it to anyone. Your friends continued to play on the topside. All the [[while]] you took in the beautiful view."You know, this is too much to handle," you exclaim, and start to reach for your watch I just wanna go home."
"No!" Jimmy yells, and points his gun at you. "If you even make another move for that watch, I'll kill you myself!"
"Then why haven't you done it? Won't that break it?"
"You don't get it! 'YOU DON'T GET IT!'
"Screw you, man!" you yell, and make another move for the watch.
There's a loud bang the moment you do. You look to see Jimmy's gun smocking, and come to a shocking discovery. You look down at your chest and see a bullet wound.
Not knowing how to feel, you start to move backward, trying to grasp at your chest. Without realizing it, Jimmy has gotten close to you.
"You shouldn't of done that," Jimmy whispers in your ear, as he pushes you off the cliff.
(text-style:"rumble")[1]
You slowly see the cliffside getting [[smaller and smaller]]This is what I had in mind for this passage:
(In the next few passages, Liam arrives at the castle, goes to the throne room, and sits in the throne. After being consumed by power, Liam becomes Jimmy The last passage would say: The Cycle Continues)
"This literally sounds like the plot of like, a subpar video game. You're telling me all the information that would of been helpful ''AT THE BEGINNING.'' Why're you telling me this now? Why not, oh, I don't know, when you took my family captive?"
"Because I knew you wouldn't believe me!" Jimmy yelled, getting closer and closer to you, "Just like you don't believe me now! It has to be this way Liam. I'm sorry..."
Jimmy cocked the gun, prepared to fire. Fearing for your life, you quickly sidestep Jimmy and push him behind you. The gun fires off, and you hear the scream of Jimmy pierce your ear. But it gets quieter.

(text-style:"rumble")[//ASCEND TO YOUR RIGHTFUL THRONE! BECOME WHO YOU"RE MEANT TO BE!//]

You made the wrong decision.
But the voices commend you. For making the right decision.
For not deviating.
Ending 2 of 5: The Cycle Continues
[[Back to the Beginning?]]//Let's hope curiosity doesn't kill you// you think to yourself, and continue to go through the house. You're curious to the noises that were coming from upstairs.
Which means you may die, but it's too late at this point. You made your choice.
Walking up the broken down stairs, you reach the top to find that rubble is blocking your way. Theres only one place to go to, and that's the door immediately to your left.
Naturally, being worried you may get jumpscared, you slowly open the door.
The door to your [[bedroom]].Unless there is something that will help you on why your place looks like this.
You enter the seemingly abandoned building, and the state of everything creates a hole in your heart. The living room looked like an absolute wreck. The couch was upside down, there was a hole straight through the TV. You can hear hear rushing water upstairs, and something else. Are those...footsteps?
You're spooked out of your mind, and honestly want to go back outside. Besides, the house what if you get killed in here? If you died in an alternate universe, there would be [[street <- no point]] to any of this.
But you are also are curious. There HAS to be something in here. [[Curiosity killed the cat]]. Maybe it didn't in this universe.//There's nothing,// you think to yourself, // I'm just gonna turn back.
As you start to head outside, something strikes a cord with you. It's somewhere you haven't gone to in a [[while]]. Myabe that'll be worth checking out instead of this run down house?
But then again, you also haven't been to the [[castle <- castle]], and it DOES look kind of interesting. It looks pristine. Like nothing ever happened.
You slowly walk around the room, surveying every little nook, making sure that nothing is going to happen. You walk to your closet, and upon opening it, you find that all of the clothes are in mint condition. All washed, all dried, and...''they're warm.''
Something knocks over behind you. Whipping around, you see...nothing? Except...for a note?
That wasn't there before. What the hell is happening...
You pick up the note, and are startled by it's writing. It's no just anybody's writing...it's your wife's.
(text-style:"expand")[//WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?//]
You slowly pick it up, and notice it has words on it. //Well, you don't say//, you think, //it's a note.//

[[Break the Cycle]].
//Break the Cycle? What's this talking about?//
Figuring that this may be useful for something (whatever is is) you stuff it inside your pocket, and [[head out]].
Looking around outside, you again notice the giant castle in the distance, but it doesn't look very enticing as it once was. Weird.
You decide to go in the opposite direction of the castle, as your mind started to wander to a very [[special place]] that you haven't been to in a while. The Secret Spot. Surely it should be a constant here as well, right?
On your way to where you hope The Secret Spot should be, you hear a familiar voice. One you really didn't hope you would hear.

//Break the Cycle.//
Jimmy notices the note. His eyes light up, and a smile forms on his face.
Okay, now he kind of looks like the Joker.
"You found it..." he whispers, 'This might actually happen..."
"Okay, hold on a minute, what might actually happen? What's this 'Cycle'? What's going on?" You slowly start to move away from the edge of the cliff. Why you got so close to it, you don't know.
Actually, there's a lot of things you don't know, but that really doesn't matter now, does it.
"Listen to me," Jimmy frantically says, "The Cycle is essentially a loop in the universes. Every time itthe cycle continues, we end up here. At our Secret Spot. Don't ask why it happens."
"Now, the Cycle ends if we end our existance here. In this spot. Every time I suggest it, you have always refuse, and the Cycle continues. But," he states, as he grabs the note from you hand, "you have this. This is the key to it all."
"Oh yeah, and why is that?" you ask, slowly starting to be [[convinced]]."It's the key because I'm not the only one trying to convince you."
You look at the note again. "How do I know this isn't you?"
"Dude," Jimmy says, "you and I both know we can't replicate our wife's handwriting."
It's true. You don't know how she writes like that. It's super artsy. You've always been jealous.
"There's a catch, isn't there. There's always a catch."
"I already told you," Jimmy starts," we would have to end our existance."
"End our existance? Leave my family behind? My life behind?"
"I know, I know." Jimmy quickly says, "I've heard this far too many times. But please, Liam. End this. End our torture." He hands you a gun from his back pocket, and grabs a second one.
You don't know what's going to happen. Should you really do this? End your existance? You take another look at the note. You read the [[four words]]: Break the Cycle, Liam. What if everything that has been said is true?
You grab the gun, and you're faced an important choice. Do you [[break the Cycle]]? Or do you [[Continue the Cycle]]?
Wait a minute. Last time there were three words...you were [[convinced]] there were three words beforehand..."Okay then," you say after a long pause. "Let's...let's do this."
"Wait, really? You're kidding!" Jimmy explodes in excitement. He really didn't think that you would say yes. To be honest, neither did you.
You grab the gun that Jimmy has outstretched. You really don't know why you're doing this. You don't know how you got convinced. But you did.
And somehow, you feel like you're doing the right thing.
"Okay, what do we do?" you ask.
"We need to stand together. Side by side, with my gone on my right side, and yours on the left."
"Dude, why are you making this coordinated?"
"You're right, my bad," he replies, coming over to you. "Are you ready? On three."
"You got it. If this doesn't work, and it's just a ploy, then I'm hurting you somehow, someway."
"Deal. On three.
One.
Two.
[[Three]].(text-style:"rumble")[2]
The quietness is unsettling. No sound is present. All the while you're falling to your death.
(text-style:"rumble")[3]
You think back to your family. You didn't even get a chance to say goodbye to them.
(text-style:"rumble")[4]
You wonder how long you've been falling.
(text-style:"rumble")[5]
But then you realize. It takes 6 seconds.
(text-style:"rumble")[6]
You hit the water, and in an instant...[[total darkness]].
Ending 5 of 5: The Cycle is Rewritten
[[Back to the Beginning?]]
The multiverse. An infinite amount of universes. Some things remain constant throughout each universe, while others tend to differentiate and have their own take of history. Some of these variables are significant, but others aren't. There's one where the British won the Revolutionary War. One where Greenland and Iceland are correctly named.
Most people want to explore the Multiverse. These same people can't.
[[You]], however, aren't like most people. You open your eyes, staring up at rocks. This looks familiar. You look to your right and see the ocean. The beautiful, beautiful ocean that you loved as a kid, and that you loved all the way to your demise. You're in The Secret Spot. But you thought...?
"You're up. Thankful for that."
That old familiar voice reaches your ears. You can't decide if it's poison or comfort. Why not both. Comson? Poifort? Nah, those just sound janky. Anyway.
"Why're we here?" you ask, sitting up, "You didn't trick me, did you? Also, why are you Jimmy?"
"I'm Jimmy because you named me Jimmy. You decided on the name. Please, just...turn around."
Naturally, you do, but to something you don't expect. Slowly but surely, the ocean, the sun, the rocks...everything is disappearing.
"There was a reason why we needed to do it here. This is the Cycle. This was the beginning of it all. The beginning and the end of the Cycle." As he says this, the sun fully disappears. The ocean is almost gone, but the light was still there. "The end point needed to be at the [[beginning]]."
"You know the multiverse theorem. An infinite amount of universes. Some things remain constant throughout each universe, while others tend to differentiate. Some of these variables are significant, but others aren't. There's one where the British won the Revolutionary War. One where Greenland and Iceland are correctly named.
Most people want to explore the Multiverse. These same people can't."
As he says this, he stands at your side. You guys are on the edge of the rock. You guys start to disappear.
"We, however, aren't like most people."
As he says that, you two disappear. Your existance fades. The multiverse fades. Everything about you fade.
You truly cease to exist. Funny how things turn out.
