The car pulls up at the side of your old house, which looked run down and somewhat (text-style:"smear","expand","buoy")[(text-colour:#5b5bb9)[gloomy]].
Your friend, who you call D.A for some reason, looks over at you with a (text-style:"smear","blink")[gleam] in their eyes,
"Ooo isn't this exciting? It's so nice to revisit your place after so long!"
You're not sure of the last time they came to visit when you two were younger.
Then again you don’t remember much if anything at all, it’s the main reason why D.A brought you here in the first place. You smile back and decide to get out the carYou chuckled a bit.
"You're excited, remind me what had happened the last time you came over?"
D.A seemed to have not heard you, despite being less than 3ft away from each other. Perhaps they were too excited with the idea of showing you the old house because of how they quickly exited the car.
Asking them later on wouldn't hurt. (if: $takePhone is not true) [You looked down at your phone in hand.

}The door was (text-colour:#d87c4b)[rusty]. Hoping that it was unlocked already, you turned the knob. To your surprise it turned effortlessly and swung the door wide open. You heard D.A's footsteps run up from behind along with the sound of something breaking.
"Oh hey you got the door open, perfect!"
You wanted to turn around to check what broke but D.A was close behind you and your view was blocked.
>Turn back around to enter the house<You decided stroll over to check out what kind of plants you might've had. Squatting down, you spot a much (text-style:"subscript")[smaller] succulent and something (text-rotate-z:4)[clicks] in your mind.
A memory fades in and you were brought back by it.The house seemed (text-style:"expand")[cozy], it was warmly lit by the sunlight that entered through the tall windows next to the door. Everything in the living room you stood in was well furnished; there leather couches faced a large TV, drawers that held up picture frames, house plants that sat in the corners. A piano sat right at the wall of the stairs that, while covered in dust, were clearly redone.
The scent of your old home was subtle and sweet. old memory brings you back .
You've just come home with your mom from the local plant store with an abundance of planted pots to decorate the empty space at the front of your new home. You remember being so excited as you've bought smaller ones for yourself, looking down at your hands were the same succulents that sit on the same porch you're on. You smiled and thought about what to name them, perhaps they can have the same names as the Greek philosophers or, maybe something better. You felt so excited to write out a list when--
D.A cuts in,
"Oh hey I remember these, you named one of these after me!"
You snap out your memory, bringing you back to the present day. You looked at them, puzzled. //Did I?//
>Turn back around to enter the house<
Ask them more**Surely you gave it some obscure name and not theirs, right?**
(link: "Snap out of it") [(goto: ">Turn back around to enter the house<")]
Ask them moreYou shut the door behind you and gazed at the house for quite some time. D.A happily trotted to the front door, ignoring the bed of plants that blanketed the front step and knocked over a small succulent that was at the corner.
They swung the door open effortlessly, making you wonder if the door was always unlocked.
You walk over to the small pot but as you were about to pick it up, D.A calls out to you to hurry up and come inside. They wanted you to see how the house hasn't changed one bit and hoped you'd remember. They stepped inside the house, their gaze no longer fixed onto you.
>Turn back around to enter the house<
Look for the backyard insteadYou decided to walk over to the back of the house. The backyard was overgrown with weeds and tall grass. There was a makeshift tireswing tied onto one of the taller trees to the left. You hear a knocking from behind.
D.A is at behind the patio door gesturing you to come take a look inside once more. Going through that door apparently led to the kitchen.
>Stay outside<"Really? I had no idea!" you exclaimed.
"Well, ya! I can't believe that go knocked out of your head! I remember you calling me to tell me you were buying plants //before// you left the store. So obviously I got excited and went straight to trying to name your future plants with you before I came to see you, and your plants. You weren't able to think of a name for one of the 3 succulents you bought so I suggested my name. Nothing like having a plant with just initials, people won't know what it stands for. The mystery of leaving it that way is always fun, don't you think?"
Laugh about it
Ask them if there's more they remember from thatYou decided to stay outside. It felt so nice to be here, but there was a feeling of emptiness within you. You were hoping to regain your memories here and yet only a few were recovered.

Think about it harder The memory that is given back is that of moving into the house for the first time, main character is a child at the time.
The (text-colour:#ffa3a3)[(text-style:"italic","sway")[lovely]] scent brought you back a few years in time. You open your eyes to see none of the furniture from a few moments ago. Upon turning around, you see the front door open, different hardwood floors, and a pile of boxes surrounding the front step outside.
//(text-colour:#a6c7e8)[This was the day we moved into this place]//
Things started to piece together. You were only a kid when you got here, and you hear your mother's voice come from the moving truck that was parked outside,
"Honey, why don't you go explore? You can always go through our new home to exploring the new rooms, or why not greet the neighbors? "We had a really nice time over there, don't you think?" she said.
You looked at the frame again and recognized the national park you two were at in the picture. It was so hot that day to be hiking along that national park, if only you remember the name of it. What you do remember from the trip was your legs getting so tired that your mom carried you for the rest of the hike and falling asleep on her shoulders, which she didn't seem to mind. The picture itself was right before, where your mom created a make-shift stand to place the camera on. It had fallen apart a few times and she fixed it so much that it made you two laugh. [exploring the new rooms
The missed calls are from your mother, you decide to call her first
She picks up after the first ring,
"Finally, after what seems like 20 calls you answered! Where are you?? You're worrying me sick!"
"I'm at the old house with D.A just like you told meYour mom tells you D.A is supposed to meet with you the day after and is confused on who the person you're with might be.

"Mom? Who am I with right now? Who are they, do you know? Why would they pretend to be them?"
"Get out of there, //now//. You're not safe. Go to the front of the house, I'm 2 minutes away."
You grow anxious, and see the D.A is not in sight.
Move to the front of the houseYou move to the front of the house as quickly and discreetly as possible, a familiar car starts to pull in behind D.A's.
It was your mother, and you automatically ran towards her vehicle with no hesitation. You turned to look at the front door and your heart skipped a beat.
You see D.A. standing out front, shocked and angry. You start to freak out and jumped into your car in a panic state.
As soon as you were touching the seat your mom stepped on the gas pedal so hard that before even you closed the door, your whole body slammed against the seat. Your heart was beating way quickly, your breath was short and nearly out, your mind was scrambled. But all you knew was that you were brought out of whatever danger D.A could've brought to you.
//'Close Call Ending'//You laughed with how ridiculous the story was told,
"No way!"
"Oh c'mon! You trusted me and it totally happened! Without my help, what else would you have named?"
You weren't too sure of it, because the thought of them coming over stood out. Did D.A. ever drive far to come visit? Did they live close? Actually, who were your neighbors?
All these questions came rushing in and put you in a gaze, staring at the ground trying your best to figure out the answers for yourself. Nothing was clicking.
Do you remember anything about who my neighbors were? You agreed. You didn't think you'd actually name a tiny plant after them but it seems like you really did. it was such a funny moment that it was locked into your mind.
"Hey I'll tell you more about it when we get inside, c'mon." D.A said as they gesture you to come in.
"This house was everything to you, you can clearly tell it's been redone but it still looks lovely! Upstairs isn't as exciting, so we'll just stay down here for now, like we always did when we were younger. Perhaps that was the reason you two were so close. The conversation lasted for so long that you didn't even realize the time. It was dark already.
You smiled and thanked them for today, you were really grateful to have helped you out in just one day, who knew? You both exited your home and decided it was time to end the day there. It was time to drive home
