As the sight of the last public cruiser fades into the horizon the reality of the situation hits you.
YOU ARE ALONE.
On a planet soon to be destroyed.

[[Drive to nearest city]]
[[Drive Home]]
Right now you find yourself on the edge of a deep forest and civilization.
In between the chance at possible [[salvation]], or giving yourself up to the [[inevitable]].
You decide to stay where you are.
Believing that there is no use in trying to fight the fate of the world.
You resolve yourself for the worst.
Rummaging through your bag you find some of the leftover supplies from your trip in the woods.
Deciding to take that trip was about one of the worst ideas you've had.
But its not the only bad decision you've taken.
Your whole life has been nothing but decision after the decision, choice after choice. All of your own making.
You've spent your whole life making your own decisions, and now that the world is ending you're not going to let it make the final decision.
(live: 20s)[
You'll be giving yourself your [[own]] salvation.]
Rummaging through your bag you find some of the leftover supplies from your trip in the woods. In it, you find the pamphlet that led to your trip. (click: "pamphlet")[
It reads:
"Enjoy a week in isolation from the rest of the world. Follow a self-guided survival experience. Dare to live a week with no communication. Release your soul to the wilds. Come back to a new person." ]
In between some nutrient bars and you sleeping bag you find a map to the [[area]]. From the map, you locate your general position.
You notice A lot of landmarks that you passed through during your trip and focus on a clearing that's about a day’s walk away.
Checking your supplies you notice you have enough food for about two days, enough to get you to the clearing. (click: "clearing")[
You recall the sight of the clearing, nestled between two mountains, the surreal look of the sunset when you first passed through there. And what mostly caught your eye was the thousands of flowers that covered the valley.]
After repacking your bag, you take one last look at the city that can be seen in the distance.
You look up to the sky try to see if you can spot any other escape cruisers dotting the skyline, but the only thing that remains is their smoke trails.
You've resigned yourself to your [[fate]], you turn around to face the forest and head for the clearing, to spend your last days surrounded by the world’s beauty.
After a day worth of walking you finally reach the clearing.
Still as breathtaking as you remember it being from a couple of days ago.
You find a nice neat space in the middle of the valley.
All you hear is the wind gently blowing through the flowers and grass.
(live: 13s)[
In the distance, you see a bright flashing.
Unlike anything you've seen before it seems to embrace the world in its warm radiant glow.
Before it appears to reach you you notice the beautiful shine
the [[field of flowers]] has taken on.]
THE END
You have reached The Field of Flowers ending.
From your bag nestled between your sleeping bag and some nutrient bars, you find the map to guide yourself around the area.
You also find the pamphlet to the self-guided forest excursion you CHOSE to take. Blaming it for enticing you to take the trip you crumple it up and throw it aside, not like there is anybody around that would care for littering in the forest anymore.
You locate your general location nad notice several other landmarks that you passed through on your trip.
In particular, a cave that you passed by on your way to the valley.
The idea of putting yourself six feet under is amusing to you in a twisted sort of way.
You gather your belongings and prepare to make the half a day's trip to the cave to where you're to put yourself to [[rest]].
You reach the cave with little difficulty as you were already familiar with the trail.
The sight of civilization already long gone, you look up to the sky noticing the smoke trails of the long-gone escape ships.
Escaping is no longer a choice for you to make.
You chose your fate, to your own salvation, through your own means.
Taking a last look at the blue sky above, you take a deep breath and walk into the [[cave]].
After two hours of walking in the cave, you notice a decline in the path of the cave, sending you deeper into the earth.
The flashlight you have with you has enough battery life to last a day, and with your lantern, you can probably have light for at least two days, enough time to find a nice place to rest deep within the cave.
As you walk farther in you notice an echoing sound coming from deep within the cave.
You play it off as water dripping from stalactites and proceed deeper into the cave.
[[Walk farther in.]]
Walking further into the cave you notice that there are steep sections of the cave, as well as the fact that there has only been one path to follow.
Almost as if the cave goes on and on, you keep walking trying to find an area where the cave ends or even splits.
The echoes in the distance sound closer and more defined, it now sounds like a big nail hitting the floor.
[[Walk even farther in]] It’s definitely been more than a day walking inside the cave now. Given that the flashlight has run out of juice, now only the lantern lights your way, but that will soon go off as well.
You decide that whenever the light goes off will be where you'll be resting. (click:"resting")[
*A little well bellow six feet*
But it will more than do. (live: 7s)[
*Rather go out by my own hand, than some stupid cataclysm.*]
(live: 11s)[
You notice that the echo in the background has gotten even louder now, almost like a firework going off.]
(live: 15s)[
Then the light of the lamp begins to [[flicker]]]
]
Noticing that the lamp is beginning to flicker you stop on your path down the cave.
You stopped bothering with the fact that the cave seems to have no end hours ago.
Along with the fact that you never once ate or drank anything nor felt tired since you entered the cave.
You chose to ignore the abnormalities in the cave since you stepped foot in the cave.
You became so fixated on choosing how go out for your self.
That you went in a cave with no separating paths.
Where the only option was to go further in.
Where the only choice you could make was decide on where you were going to end it all.
No way were you letting the planet beat you to the end.
(live: 20s)[
You put down your bag.]
(live: 23s)[
You reach into it, and pull out the gun you bought for protection for the trip.]
(live: 26s)[
As you put the gun to your temple, you noticed that the echo reaches a crecendo...then as you pull the trigger it [[stops]].
]The End
You've reached the Echoes of Tomorrow ending."Huh?"
You turn around to try to find where the voice came from.
You're supposed to be alone.
//"Well you're not."//
"Where are you?"
//"Right here."//
"Where?"
//**"Right Here"**//
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?"
//**"I'M IN THE TEXT"**//
"HOW'S THAT SUPPOSED TO WORK?"
//**"I DO NOT KNOW. IT JUST DOES."**//
"WHY ARE WE YELLING?"
//**WELL YOU STARTED IT!**//
"Fine ok let's calm down now.... What the hell is going on?"
//"Well you're the one that wanted to [[fight]]."//
"Yeah, but I thought I would be fighting to survive."
//"Well I think it got twisted into now fighting with yourself."//
"So are you me?"
//"No."//
"Then whos fighting with who?"
(live: 10s)[
//"Might be whoever it is that is writing this part of the story."//
"Are you the writer?"
//"No.. I'm more like a stand-in for the writer. If anything I'm on your side."//
"My side of what?"
//"I'm not entirely sure."//
^^"Great"^^
//"Yeah..."//
"So is the world even ending any more?"
//"At this point, I'm not even sure if this story even has a point"//
^^"Greeeeaaaat"^^
//"Yeeeaaahh[[...]]"//]
The End
You have reached the Developer's Monologue ending.
(live: 5s)[
"Wait seriusly is that it?"
//"Yeah seems like it"//
"Can I get a do over?"
//"[[Sure->escape]]"//]On your way to the city you notice all the roads are deserted, devoid of human life.
By the side of the roads all the signs which would usually play an advert for a mundane product now all display waht appear to be a recording of a news braodcast.
The message is all the same:
"Due to unexplained reasons, the world leaders have reason to believe the world is ending, thus they have graciulsy opened up the public cruisers to the world so as to escape the catastrophy. Please head to the nearest city as soon as possible."
As your vehicle's energy meter gauge starts to beep empty you enter the limits of the city.
[[Continue Driving as far as you can]]In your home you have yout own personal crusier which you can use to escape the inevitable end of the world.
As you turn the GPS to take you home, your car shows a diagnostic which shows that there is not enough energy to make it.
Hoping to find a way to recharge along to the way you carry on.
(live:7s)[
All of the energy refil stations you've passed along the way have been either turned off, or emptied out.
Not knowing how to turn them on, you continue with a worried eye over the energy gauge as it slowly but surely decreases with each [[mile]].
]Halfway to your home.
In a windy path of the road overlooking a steep precipice, your car shuts down.
As it does you lose control of the wheel, sending you car over the cliff.
The last thing you see before you is the rapidly closing [[rock floor]].
The End
You have reached the A Long Way From Home ending. As you walk to the space port you try to keep an out for other people that may have been left behind, half hoping you're not the only miserable bastard left behind on this rock.
But no matter where you look its all empty, nothing but traces of a hurried retreat by the lucky few to be in the city at the time of th announcement and those that managed to get there before you, even the automated serverbots seem to have been turned off.
"Its all barren" You think out loud.
Possibly being the first words you've said in all this [[mess]]. A little past the entrance of the city the dashboard of your car begins to light up with all sorts of warnings and blaring alarms to indicate that the energy is dangerously low and to stop the vehicle inmediately.
You decide to drive to the side of the road and leave your vehicle there to stop it from horribly crashing.
Once empty you leave your car by the side of the road.
As you exit your vehicle you notice that a lot of the empty cars are facing one particular direction.
You deduce that is where the space port of this city is, and head there.
[[Walk to space port]]
And what a mess it has been.
When you reach the space port, your worst fears come to realization.
There really are no more public cruisers.
You hoped to find at least one, for the braodcast to be wrong, but no.
You were too late. With a feeling of dread looming over you, you turn your face to the horizon of the space port.
(live: 8s)[
Off in the distance you spot somebody's personal cruiser, which still seems operational. You give a half jump in joy as you run to its [[destination]].]You run as fast as you can. Faster than you've ever run before.
Almost [[tripping]] on a pebble on the path.
When you reach the personal cruiser, you notice that it has been left on.(click: "left on")
[
Almost as if its waiting for someone.]
Without missing a beat you get inside and man the controls of the cruiser. As you prepare to launch you, you weigh the options currently in front of you:
[[Wait and see if the owner of the cruiser returns]]
[[Escape the end of the world]]You decide to see if this cruiser belonged to anybody, not wanting to let anyone feel as condemned as you did a couple of hours ago.
A couple of hours later you see a family approach the cruiser.
One of them is armed and exclaiming for you to get out of the ship with threats of opening fire if you do not comply
As you come out with your arms raised, you try to explains your intentions. How you found yourself believed to be stranded in the planet and how commandering this ship was your chance at salvation.
Coincidentally the reason why this family hasn't been able to escape was because they did not now how to pilot the ship, they went in search of anybody that could that could still be left, but returned with no hope.
You offer to commandeer the spaceship for the family, which to they obviously agree inmediately.
The family squeezes into the ship along with you as the driver. You escape the end of the world and manage to catch up with one of the large public [[cruisers]]. Not thinking of who this ship could possibly belong to you escape the doomed planet.
Catching up to one of the public cruisers, you are brought in to the security hold and questioned as why your identification does not match the ship's original owners.
You explain your circumstances, how you found yourself believed to be stranded in the planet and how commandering this ship was your chance at salvation. However the guard points to a monitor showing footage of a family holding each other close before a bright light envelops them and the footage cuts.
You spend the rest of your days inside of space [[prison]]. The End
You have reached the "Tomorrow's Apocalypse" ending. The End
You have reached the "Last human in the world" endingYou trip on the pebble in the path causing you to fall.
Carried by your momentum you strike a handrail with enough force to bend it, and fall unconcious.
You wake up to the sound of rumbling that appears to be coming from the earth.
In the horizon you see a bright light that seems to swallow everyhting in existance.
You turn your eyes to the sky you see the trail of a recently departed cruiser, the one you were [[aiming]] for. The End
You really need to watch where you are going.
