Killed in Cold Blood

It's close to 2 am. Your car broke down and you've been wandering for a good hour or so. A snowstorm is raging around you and seems to only be getting worse. You've had no luck seeing any other people, cars, or tire tracks. You see a faint light in the distance. [[Walk towards the light->please help]] [[Walk away from the light->no.]]

As you approach the light you hear the incessant hum of old style radiators and are beginning to understand that the light was a neon sign that says "Quietus Quaints Hotel." You have a bad feeling about this. [[Get a closer look->go in]] [[Walk past it->mid]]

You walk away from the light and continue wandering aimlessly. You spend the next four hours evaluating the choices that brought you to this moment. Hint: They weren't good ones. [[You've Died->start]] You would've thought "walk towards the light" would've been the death one, but what do you know.

You've now come face to face with large wooden doors with archiac carvings of ravens along with some Q's in various places and corners. [[Open the doors->inside]] [[Turn around->please help]]

The first thing you notice about this hotel, is that it's much larger on the inside than you would think. The second thing you notice is that there is a large amount of commotion coming from your right. [[Look around->look]] [[Go towards the voices->voices]]

As you glance around you notice that this definently isn't a newer building. It's got a very tall ceiling and just looking at it makes it seem to slowly grow higher and higher. [[Stop looking->inside]] [[Keep looking->oops.]]

You march forward into what appears to be a ballroom, at the very least it's a large open space. There are three people standing around yelling at each other, along with a brown blanket in the corner of the room with a strange humaniod figure underneath it that appears to be oozing. No one seems to have noticed your prescence. You feel like this is a mistake. Something is either seriously wrong with this building, or with you. You'd better leave while you feel you still have the chance. [[Go to the voices->voices]]

You cough loudly, hoping to get the attention of the hotel goers. You sort of succeed, two of the people shriek, and the last one looks startled but then stares at you with an icy gaze. The two that shrieked have blonde and brown hair respectively, and the last guest is very tall and lean. You learn that 15 minutes before you arrived, one of the guests wound up with a large knife inbetween their shoulder blades (and is now under the blanket you spotted earlier), and the owner of the hotel is no where to be found. You try approching slowly and asking about what's going on, in hopes of securing a place to spend the night in shelter from the snow. You're cut short though, because the snow underneath your shoes makes a loud crunch sound, followed by two of the guests shrieking, and the third one staring angrily at you. The two that shrieked have blonde and brown hair respectively, and the last guest is very tall and lean. You learn that 15 minutes before you arrived, one of the guests wound up with a large knife inbetween their shoulder blades (and is now under the blanket you spotted earlier), and the owner of the hotel is no where to be found. You make a beeline straight for the blanket, forgoing greeting the yelling guests in hopes of quelling your curiosity surrounding the blanket. The closer you get to the blanket, the more you smell what seems to be a bad cover up job on a large pile of floor vomit. You turn around to leave. You make your way going in reverse order of how you got here, but it seems like the room order of the hotel shifted since you arriving. [[Strange->locked door]]

Regardless of the rooms seemingly shifing, you finally make your way back to what appears to be the door you entered from. You attempt to pull on the handle, but it's either been locked, or it's frozen. The lights go out and you hear a whisper. "There's no going back..." [[You've Died->start]]

It's a shame your car broke down, because you had a genuine, authentic $25.99 Sherlock Holmes hat, along with a pipe, and a copy of Hound of the Baskervilles. Regardless of the missing gear, you're still a true-blue sleuth at heart. So it's time for some sleuthin'. You peek under the blanket, and if it seemed like a bad cover up of a large floor vomit pile before, it'll definitely seem like that now, because you've just thrown up. Under the blanket is the most horrifyingly bloated corpse you've ever seen. There's no polite way to put this. The body looks like it goes through hell and back again every morning before breakfast. After disheveling the contents of your stomach, you take a quick second glance and then collect yourself and start to head over to the three people to learn more about what's going on, when you realize that you're no longer in the same room. What once used to be a ballroom is now a small square with just enough room to stand up in. The other three guests are no where to be seen. While every fiber in your body is screeching out in horror and agony, there's only one thing left for you to do. You point your one good sleuthing finger directly at your numero uno suspect, and are met with disbelief when confronted with the fact out of the corner of your eye, you spot that the "signature corpse blanket" (as you've come to call it) is missing it's signature corpse-y shape. Whatever is going on in this hotel is beyond too much for you to handle. You've decided to run. Despite running back the way you came, it seems that you're only running deeper and deeper into the hotel, you begin to pass what seems like endless hallways and room after repeated room, until you reach what looks to be the door that you came into the hotel from. From behind you, you hear four distinct laughs that reverberate throughout both the hotel and your skull. You manage to pull open the door as the laughs get louder and louder, and begin running directly into the [[snowstorm.->end]]

Regardless of what you've seen, or believe you've seen, you've decided to stay put. The hairs on the back of your neck are standing up, and at this point you're debating whether coming to this hotel was any better than facing the snowstorm raging on outside. If it's any consolation you get a full conformation that this was indeed worse, along with the chilling feeling you would've gotten outside when a freezing cold hand grabs your shoulder and the last thing you hear is "No one helped..."
