She was certain this was Lexi. She wishes she had known, that she could take everything back and try again, she would give anything to have Lexi back.

In 2017, there were 47,173 recorded suicides.
That's an average of 129 suicides per day.
These numbers are as accurate as possible, however the number is likely higher. The stigma around suicide causes underreporting and dissuades any proper conversation of the topic.
Suicide is a public health crisis in America, that stems from lack of adequte mental health treatment. Until the United States adopts a state-sponsered health care system that addresses mental health head on, it is unlikely that much will change. However there are things you can do as an individual to help in your community.
Know the signs:
Talking about wanting to die or to kill oneself;
Looking for a way to kill oneself;
Talking about feeling hopeless or having no purpose;
Talking about feeling trapped or being in unbearable pain;
Talking about being a burden to others;
Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs;
Acting anxious, agitated, or reckless;
Sleeping too little or too much;
Withdrawing or feeling isolated;
