This is a proposal to encode the Tangut script in the international character encoding standard Unicode. The script was published in Unicode Standard version 9.0 in June 2016. The script, also known as Xixia, was used to write the Tangut language. The language was spoken from 11c CE until 16c CE in the area of present-day northwest China. Some modifications of the characters and their glyphs have been made since this proposal was written. Users should check the latest Unicode code charts for the most up-to-date version.
