Wayfinding is the collective methods and manners by which people attempt to orient themselves in their physical surroundings and while they navigate from location to location. This collection of poems considers this process as it pertains to constructing a narrative of not just where one has been in life, but where one seeks to go. These poems examine how we orient ourselves with regard to grief, trauma, loneliness, family, faith, and love—and how we map our own ways toward shelter and home. In both maelstroms and moments of grace, and all those in between, the tools we use to find our way take many forms, as do the courses that we chart through the waters, be they tumultuous with upheaval or sweet and serene. This collection seeks to demonstrate but one form of this complex and beautiful cartography, via the act of poetry.
