The application of crosswell electromagnetic tomography to monitor waterflood operations at the Lost Hills Field in central California is described. The crosswell EM technology is capable of mapping the interwell resistivity distribution and allow convenient tracking of ongoing flooding operations as well as improved reservoir characterization. Interwell resistivity changes were clearly associated with water injection just as increases were associated with zones of fluid production. A brief description of the technology is presented and its application to characterize the water flood and track the ongoing saturation changes is shown.
