ENERGY-DISPERSIVE X-RAY FLOURESCENCE (EDXRF) ANALYSIS OF MAJOR, MINOR AND TRACE ELEMENTS FOR VOLCANIC ROCKS FROM GRAND CANYON-PARASHANT NATIONAL MONUMENT, UTAH

Abstract

The analysis here of 62 rock samples indicates a large diversity of rock types, based on the TAS plot and bivariate plots of four trace elements (Tables 1 and 2, Figures 1 and 2). While basalt is a common rock type, it is not the dominant volcanic in the assemblagebased on this analysis (see Discussion).
