California Marine Life Protection Act: What's Really Happening?

Abstract

The most common criticism of marine protected areas is the lack of scientific knowledge necessary to design or even predict the conservation benefits to be gain by a network of MPAs. Another criticism is the lack of information on the location, quality, and importance of habitats for species targeted for conservation by MPAs. This project explores previous research to determine how MPAs affect fisheries.
