Creating Evidence-Based Management Textbooks
- Pearce, Jone L

Abstract
A close look at textbooks helps to illustrate that we do not now translate research into practice in our teaching. There are two areas in which our textbooks fail: by too often reporting as research evidence information for which there is no reliable supporting scholarship, and by undermining the field by persisting in wasting scarce space (and students' attention) on theories that have long been debunked by rigorous research. Why textbooks too often fail to accurately present research and what the chapter author has done to make her teaching more evidence based are described.
