Archaeological Research Facility

The analysis here of 74 obsidian artifacts from Elmer’s site in Safford Valley, southeastern Arizona is dominated by obsidian from the Mule Creek Source Complex in eastern New Mexico, a few samples from the Cow Canyon source of eastern Arizona, one artifact produced from the Government Mountain source in northern Arizona, and four sources that do not match any known source in western North America
