iXercisePlus: Examining the role of Intelligent Agent and Multiplayer in exergaming

Creative Commons 'BY' version 4.0 license
Abstract

The iXercise exergaming platform was developed with sensors, micro-controllers, an exercise bike in association with the popular Minecraft game to promote physical activities among children. While iXercise platform has been developed and demonstrated promising benefits towards promoting physical activities in children, the existing iXercise platform yet lacks contents that can attract children’s interests and excitements. In this project, we further developed the existing iXercise platform with more multiplayer content, exciting quests, and an intelligent agent system that can adjust the difficulty levels based on children’s heart rate.
