Emissions sensors for high temperature fuel cell applications

Abstract

High temperature fuel cells such as solid oxide fuel cells offer a high efficiency, fuel flexible, low emission strategy for distributed generation. In order to validate emissions performance of pollutants such as NOx and CO, analyzers that provide accurate measurements of low single digit values of these species are needed. Analyzer requirements are described along with respresentative results for low emission practical devices. The results demonstrate reliable analyzer performance and confirm low emission levels. © 2005 IEEE.
