This project studies normal weight, overweight, and obese subjects with risk factors for osteoarthritis (OA) and compares cartilage degeneration in their knees over a 36 month time period... Our project demonstrated that body weight impacted the severity of osteoarthritis, which was measured by the amount of cartilage lost.
