Spectrum awareness for next-generation networks

No data is associated with this publication.
Abstract

The rapid expansion of wireless devices and services is pushing the limits of the current RF spectrum, necessitating innovative approaches to spectrum utilization. Traditional methods, which involve dividing the spectrum into fixed segments, are becoming increasingly inefficient for next-generation wireless systems. This talk explores the concept of spectrum awareness in these networks, focusing on how it can transform spectrum utilization, regulation, and security.

My research involves developing a comprehensive understanding of specific applications, breaking them down into requirements for sensing, signal processing, and system-level considerations. This approach has led to the creation of hardware systems and signal processing tools that are foundational for spectrum-aware next-generation networks. My PhD thesis work demonstrates the practical applications of these tools, showcasing their ability to improve spectrum usage, enhance regulatory frameworks, and strengthen wireless security in real-world scenarios.
