Proposals from the Script Encoding Initiative bannerUC Berkeley

Final Proposal to Encode the Khojki Script in ISO/IEC 10646

Abstract

This is a proposal to encode the Khojki script in the international character encoding standard Unicode. This script was published in Unicode Standard version 7.0 in June 2014. The Khojki script was created in Sindh (Pakistan) in order to represent the Sindhi language, but has spread to other areas and has been used to write other languages. It was attested already in the 16c CE. Today it is used by Nizari Ismailis both in South Asia and beyond to write religious literature.
