Presentation slides on an evaluation of the UCSD Emergency Department Community Placement Project. Project conclusions show that ED staff can discharge homeless patients to a housing resource and not the streets, the project can lead to a minor reduction of hospital services and cost, and the the program is working for patients with less severe medical and psychiatric profiles.
