Abstract
This collection of poems, through confessional and conceptual strategies, seeks to question the ways in which we perform identity. The thesis is divided into four sections and each of the sections contains a particular style of poetics employed to explore gender, ethnicity, bodies, popular culture, consumerism, and sexuality. The first section includes poems driven by plain speech, the second contains list poems, the third houses more conceptual forms, and the fourth is a 20-page manifesto.
