The UCSF Real Estate Lean Project Delivery Guide is part of an initiative to develop Project Management Standards for the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) that incorporates existing industry, national, and international best practices on lean design and construction. The purpose of this document is to provide guidance and shared understanding on the intent of lean practices selected by the University to support the delivery of major capital projects. The guide describes specific approaches that have been successfully adopted at UCSF Real Estate projects and include examples of techniques and tools to support the implementation of specific lean methodologies. Different levels of maturity for each of those practices are also provided to support their successful implementation during project delivery.
