Lymphocyte in vitro cytotoxicity: Characterization of mouse lymphotoxin

Abstract

This communication describes some of the physical and chemical characteristics of mouse lymphotoxin (MLT), a cytotoxic factor released by mouse lymphocytes in vitro after stimulation with phytohemagglutinin. Mouse LT activity was found to be heat and pH stable exhibiting properties characteristic of a protein having a molecular weight of approximately 90-150,000. The differences and similarities between mouse and human lymphotoxins are also discussed. © 1971.
