"LIBEL!" is a resource-based card game where players each run a media network. The core gameplay revolves around publishing stories (which affect your viewership and integrity), and playing action cards, which have some effect on the state of the game. News story cards in general fit into two categories: fake news (which nets high viewership and negative integrity) and real news (which boosts integrity and can affect viewership in either direction). The action cards are diverse, but many are unfavorable for news networks with low integrity. The objective of the game is to achieve the highest viewership among networks. "LIBEL!" aims to represent something that is not frequently depicted in card games or video games - the internal dialog a news company has with itself about making money while still publishing valuable news.
