Density interferometer using the fast Alfven wave
Abstract
The mass density evolution of a plasma was tracked via interferometry. The comparison of the observed to calculated phase shift showed reasonable agreement. The evanescent layer attenuation was found to be responsible for loss of tracking. Changes in wave propagation were found to be less significant.
