Proposal to encode the Devanagari letter and vowel sign AY
Abstract
This is a proposal to encode two Devanagari characters, the letter and vowel sign AY, in the international character encoding standard Unicode. The characters were published in Unicode version 11.0 in 2018. The characters were devised in the 19c to represent short vowels in languages of north India.
