The Chemical Potential
Abstract
The thermal energy equation plays two important roles in multi-component, reacting systems. One role is to provide the governing equation for the temperature. A second role is to provide information for the entropy transport equation. In these notes the axiomatic statements concerning energy in multi-component systems are examined carefully and the results are compared to those developed half a century ago.
