Abstract

A search for the decays of D0→ e+e-, D0→ μ+μ-and D0→ e±μ∓was investigated. The analysis was based on 122 fb-1of data collected on or near the γ(4S) resonance by the BABAR detector at the SLAC PEP-II asymmetric e+e-collider. The BABAR detector provided charged-particle tracking through a combination of five-layer double-sided silicon microstrip detector (SVT) and a 40-layer central drift chamber (DCH). The upper limits on the branching fractions are 1.2 x 10-6, 1.3 x 10-6and 8.1 x 10-7.
