Limn is not a traditional scholarly journal. We do not accept unsolicited submissions of articles. However, if you have an idea for an issue, we are happy to consider it. Send a one or two page description of a contemporary problem, including the expertise and appropriateness of the editorial team who will undertake the issue. Don’t hesitate to mention if you have funding for publication costs.

Limn is a moving feast. Limn is one kind of alternative to older forms of intellectual work, like the edited volume or the conference proceeding. Part of our goal is to make Limn a venue for more widely and better communicating exciting research in the social and human sciences. If you think you have an event or opportunity for which Limn might be appropriate, please let us know. You could also write us into your next grant proposal. Let’s talk.

Limn is DIY. The cost of producing Limn is low, but despite the rhetoric of the information age, it is not zero. The availability of easy to use, free tools for both online and print publication continues to increase, and we take advantage of whatever we can. We rely on the unpaid contributions of committed scholars and students, but we also rely on the paid service of a designer and would love to pay developmental editors, copy-editors, illustrators and others. You can contribute directly by buying print versions of the magazine, assigning them in classes or contributing time and expertise to the process. We don’t take $$ donations, yet.
