Background: Problem: People with visual impairments lack the ability to know their surroundigs. Project Goal: A wearable vest that uses sensors and haptic feedback to notify the visually-impaired user of nearby hazards. The vest will also use cameras and image recognition to describe hazards and read nearby signs and documents. An SOS button will be implemented to call for help during emergencies. It is intended to be used in conjunction with traditional tools like walking sticks.
