icgispp Conference - October 26-30, 2015

The 9th International Conference on Geographic Information Science (September 2016) continued the GIScience series of conferences. Since 2004, the biennial conference has alternated between locations in North America and Europe. GIScience 2016 was held in Montreal, Canada, September 25-27.

Since its inception GIScience conferences have adopted a two-track program soliciting full papers describing the highest quality completed research alongside short papers describing latest work in progress. The full papers are published by Springer as Volume 9927 in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series (http://www.springer.com/us/book/9783319457376).

For GIScience 2016, 152 short papers were submitted. Papers were peer-reviewed and 51 were accepted for oral presentation and 54 as poster presentations (69% acceptance rate). 102 papers were presented and appear in these proceedings.
