In 2007 the University of California, Irvine Libraries created Anteater Island in Second Life® to highlight library services and to offer a platform for research and teaching to UCI faculty. A team is responsible for the management of Anteater Island; selecting materials to highlight, enabling the use of the island for use by faculty in their research and instruction, determining programming, and dealing with land management issues.
