Grants made by the American Legacy Foundation will further its goal of creating tobacco-free generations. At the heart of Legacy's grant program is the effort to identify new and improved ways to develop effective tobacco control programs. The cycle of funding includes grants in several areas: Small Innovative Grants Initiative, Circle of Friends Small Grants Initiative, Priority Populations Grants, Statewide Youth Movement Against Tobacco Use, and Evaluation and Research.
