Abstract

Okay Cool Cool Cool Yeah Yeah centers London’s peripheries, following five young city dwellers who live between the margins of the city and the margins of the Internet where— ironically—they blossom into whole new avatars of self. The novel weaves together the overlapping struggles of London’s outer-borough residents, including Rami (a womanizer dealing with his repressed queer desires), Zeb (an American new-arrival in the city with a dark secret), and Oona (a camgirl who can’t bear to leave the house). The thesis works within the tradition of dialogue-driven comedy to critique and explore socio-economic tensions that lie at the heart of the city, sex, and the internet.
