Abstract

The eScholarship Repository is a service of the California Digital Library, University of California Office of the President. The eScholarship program was launched to facilitate innovation and support experimentation in the production and dissemination of scholarship. The repository has been a tremendous success, with over 9,000 papers posted and over two million full-text downloads. The Repository offers UC departments, centers, and research units (nearly 200) direct control over creation and dissemination of the full range of scholarly output, including pre-publication materials, journals and peer-reviewed series, as well as post-publication materials such as postprints.

The Postprints feature provides another way for University of California faculty and staff to disseminate their scholarship, and allows the general public to freely access previously published peer-reviewed articles authored by UC faculty and staff. This presentation will focus on the electronic publishing tools available through the repository and the different ways in which authors and research units can utilize them to promote their work and their research unit in general. There will also be a short demonstration exciting new postprint features now available that allow you to associate your postprints with your unit and allow you designate a proxy to upload your postprints on your behalf.
