From the colonial landscapes that cannot offer more language to describe pain and suffering, I created a recursive comic book form to dedicate a study on misreading, proposing more grammar and syntax for the violence that escapes description. Using the visual rhetoric and sequential narrative form of the comic medium, [GUTTER] is a linguistic experimentation for imagining an emancipatory bilingual pun. The liberation of this pun embodies the potentiality of freedom through mistranslations of dichotomies and bifurcations beholden to Western thought. In sync with the nonlinearity of [GUTTER], this paper is a reflection on the comics, a repository of my research and experiences that orients my knowledge towards a portraiture of misreading.
