The Asian American Research Journal (AARJ) is the first journal at UC Berkeley that seeks to provide a platform for research and scholarly work centered on Asian American and Asian Diasporic experiences, identities, and communities. AARJ is dedicated to uplifting and empowering undergraduate and graduate students and accepts works that facilitate discourse on Asian American issues. By providing a platform that empowers students to share their academic work, AARJ is continuing the fight fought by those in the TWLF strikes by combating academic gatekeeping against people of color. The journal is sponsored by UC Berkeley’s robust Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies program and the Asian American Research center. AARJ publishes a volume annually.
