Abstract Structure
Introduction
Begin with a clear statement of the research question. Briefly summarize relevant background and identify knowledge gaps. Conclude with the study’s purpose or a prior hypothesis.
Methods
Include study design, setting, sample size, inclusion/exclusion criteria, intervention (if applicable), outcome measures, and statistical analysis methods.
Results
Describe study participants and reasons for exclusions. Present key outcome data with appropriate statistical reporting (e.g., standard deviations or 95% confidence intervals and level of significance). If results are not statistically significant, include study power when applicable.
Conclusions
State conclusions supported directly by the data. If space permits, address generalizability and study limitations.
