Issues in Applied Linguistics is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scholarly contributions addressing language in real-world contexts. The journal welcomes work across the full scope of applied linguistics, including language learning and teaching, multilingualism, discourse and interaction, language assessment, language policy, language processing, literacy, technology, identity, and the social, cultural, political, and institutional dimensions of language use.

The journal invites diverse theoretical, methodological, pedagogical, critical, reflective, and public-facing contributions. We welcome empirical research, conceptual and methodological papers, pedagogical innovations, practitioner reflections, policy analyses, forums, commentaries, dialogues, interviews, reviews, and other scholarly work that advances conversations in applied linguistics. Issues in Applied Linguistics is committed to methodological pluralism, intellectual inclusivity, and innovative scholarship that engages with emerging and enduring language-related issues across communities, contexts, and regions.
