The goal of this study, then, is to further investigate the properties of the Minimization/Denial (MD) subset of the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQ). Specifically, this project will seek to 1) determine the incidence of MD in a variety of different samples and 2) examine correlations between the MD subscale and the 5 trauma and neglect subscales of the CTQ. Based on the few prior reports that exist, we hypothesize that we will find a significant incidence of MD, and further, that its correlations will warrant both further study and inclusion in reports that use the CTQ.
