Submission Guidelines

  • To submit a manuscript, select the "Submit Manuscript" button at the top of this page to access the submission management platform, Janeway. Authors must first create a password-protected account on Janeway, then follow the manuscript submission steps.
  • All corresponding authors are required to provide a verified ORCID ID at submission. Co-authors are strongly encouraged to do the same. ORCID IDs will be displayed alongside author names in the published article metadata.
  • Authors' names and identifying information should not appear on the manuscript itself. The title, abstract, key words, author information, and word count should be input separately according to the directions on the website.
  • Authors can submit the manuscript, including tables, figures, appendices, etc., as a single file (Word files are accepted). Tables and figures should be inserted in the text as close as possible to where they are first mentioned. If figures are included, please be sure to use high-resolution figures (at least 300 dpi). Color figures are allowed and will appear in color online. Copyright permissions for images or figures that have been previously published elsewhere should be provided during the submission process.
  • All manuscripts should include a brief abstract (maximum 250 words) and a list of no more than 5 keywords that describe the scope of the work. Keywords that are different from the title and abstract may enhance searchability and are preferred.
  • Please make sure that the authors’ contact information is complete and correct, and provided in the submission portal, but not in the manuscript document, to ensure masked review. Be sure to enter all names and affiliations exactly as they should appear in the published article (including appropriate capitalization and punctuation).
  • Manuscripts should be typed in APA style, with 12-point Times New Roman font, and follow APA style 7th edition. Although Psychology Across Development will not enforce a strict word limit, we encourage authors to aim for brevity and strive not to exceed 15,000 words (60 double-spaced pages) for the full manuscript, including references and all manuscript components.
