The Workshop on Language Ideology and Change in Multilingual Communities brings together anthropologists, ethnic studies specialists, and linguists to to discuss change in linguistic structures and patterns of use by members of minority language communities in a variety of world settings.

The talk will deal with influential language ideologies in post-Soviet Ukraine and the role of the media in their reproduction, analyzing beliefs regarding language usage and, more narrowly, the usage of the two most widely used languages of Ukraine, Ukrainian and Russian.
