The Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA) is a University of California research center seeking to improve economic and social development outcomes in low- and middle-income countries, through policy evaluation and economic analysis. The Center partners internationally with research institutions, governments, and the private sector to design and rigorously assess new strategies for poverty alleviation. We draw on the expertise of more than 30 faculty researchers in economics, public health, agriculture, education and business, and our work is premised on the principle that knowledge gained from randomized trials (and other forms of impact evaluation) is a valuable public good that can improve policy around the world.
