Testimony of the Mexican Indian Jusepe, who accompanied Francisco Leyva de Bonilla and Antonio Gutiérrez de Humaña on their unauthorized and ill-fated expedition of 1593. February 16, 1599.

Abstract

The Mexican Indian Jusepe provided the only known record of the 1593 expedition and his testimony was a powerful incentive for Juan de Oñate to explore Quivira (modern-day Kansas) in 1601.
